Chase’s lauded Sapphire Lounges are expanding.

After making its U.S. debut in Boston in 2023, the issuer has been on a tear lately, opening permanent locations at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Washington Dulles (IAD).

Now, travelers can expect new lounges at both Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN). In fact, the PHX location opened on November 12, 2024, while SAN will make its debut in December.

“When we opened our first domestic lounge, we were clear that expanding our footprint and elevating the on-trip experience for our Sapphire Reserve cardmembers was a priority,” Dana Pouwels, head of airport lounge benefits at Chase said in a statement. “Our openings in Phoenix and San Diego, in addition to the expansion of lounge access in locations where our customers live and travel, continues along our goal of delivering this highly sought after benefit.”

Here’s everything that you need to know about Chase’s latest lounges.

Chase Sapphire Lounge in Phoenix

At PHX, Chase has opened a 3,500-square-foot Sapphire Lounge by The Club in the Terminal 4 South 1 Concourse. Lounge hours are 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. While the lounge is on the smaller side, it’ll feel more spacious thanks to panoramic views of the tarmac through the lounge’s ribbon window.

The pièce de résistance, however, is a centerpiece bar with craft cocktails and stylish seating along with an indoor terrace overlooking the airport’s concourse. On the food and beverage front, a retrofitted Airstream food truck features dishes from local Phoenix restaurant The Larder & The Delta. The curated drink menu includes Press Coffee, an Arizona-based specialty coffee roaster, and a wine list from Parcelle, one of the country’s most renowned wine retailers. Parcelle has become a staple at Sapphire Lounge locations.

Art is adorned throughout the lounge with creations by Arizona-based artist Timmy Ham. Also included is a custom-designed complimentary luggage tag for visiting cardmembers (while supplies last), made in collaboration with Solgaard.

Chase Sapphire Lounge in San Diego

Next month, on December 6, Chase will open another Sapphire Lounge by The Club location at SAN‘s Terminal 2. Lounge hours will be 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. This 10,000-square-foot space leans into the Southern California destination, including surfboards designed by local muralist Hanna Daly and offering a beachy aesthetic.

With the added footprint, there are also more amenities here than in Phoenix, including a dedicated wellness area with bookable private rest pods, on-demand digital meditations from Devi Brown, and facial treatments from Face Haus. If these perks sound familiar at all, they’re available at Chase’s other locations in BOS and LGA.

Finally, for food and drink, an à la carte menu will include dishes from Oscars Mexican Seafood — a San Diego staple — and coffee from California’s Groundwork Coffee. Parcelle, once again, will curate the wine menu.

Other Chase Lounges

On November 16, Chase will unveil a limited-time lounge pop-up at Las Vegas’ ARIA Resort & Casino for Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardmembers. The space will feature food from celebrated restaurant Momofuku and cocktails from Los Angeles- and New York-based speakeasy Apotheke.

Meanwhile, new permanent Sapphire Lounge locations at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) are expected in early 2025 and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in mid-2025. Further out, a new lounge location is also being planned at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

These announcements come on the heels of Chase confirming the end of the Sapphire Terrace in Austin in March 2025.

Final Thoughts

Chase is back with new lounges at both PHX (now open) and SAN (opening next month). With at least 2 more lounges to come by mid-2025, Chase will have a solid network of pre-departure spaces by then and is well on its way to compete against the likes of American Express Centurion Lounges and Capital One Lounges.
