If you don’t enroll, use that same card to make a purchase, and do so before the deadline, you won’t receive the cash-back from the offer — which comes as a statement credit on your account.

Citi Merchant Offer for Hertz Rentals

Citi cardholders can enroll in a new offer for $75 back after spending at least $325 with Hertz by August 31, 2026. This offer is only valid at Hertz corporate-owned locations in the U.S., so it won’t help with your next trip overseas.

To qualify, you must book directly with Hertz through its website, mobile app, or by phone. Qualifying transactions also include in-person spending at a U.S. Hertz rental facility. Bookings through third-party sites like rentalcars.com won’t qualify.

Not everyone is spending $325 on a rental car, so this offer is most useful for those booking multiday rentals or more expensive, premium cars. Those can add up to $325 pretty quickly.

And that $325 spending requirement must be met by the rental cost, not extras like toll payments. Hertz Car Sales purchases also don’t qualify for this offer.
