Who doesn’t love a transfer bonus? When you send your credit card rewards to an airline or hotel partner, a transfer bonus gives you extra points without extra effort or cost. And right now, you can get 30% more Virgin Atlantic points when sending your Citi points to Flying Club.

Flying Club, Virgin Atlantic’s award program, has some great redemptions, though it’s worth noting there can be some hefty fees associated with some awards.

So should you take advantage of this transfer bonus that’s available until October 18, 2025? A closer look can help you decide.

Citi to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club: Transfer Bonus Details

Until October 18, 2025, there’s a 30% transfer bonus when sending your Citi ThankYou Points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

Normally, transfers run at a 1:1 rate, so the elevated rate is 1:1.3 with this offer. That means you’d get 1,300 Virgin Atlantic points for every 1,000 Citi points you send. The offer is clearly visible on Citi’s website, and you can see the bonus added automatically when choosing the number of points you want to send — no guesswork needed.

Is It Worth It?

Citi has a solid list of transfer partners, and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is one of the more interesting options.

There are some incredibly valuable ways to redeem Virgin Atlantic points, including flights across the Atlantic with Virgin Atlantic from 6,000 points in economy or 29,000 points in Upper Class, the airline’s name for its business-class product. That said, you will see high cash fees on these premium awards.

Virgin Atlantic also provides great value for booking Delta One business class between the U.S. and Europe, and Virgin Atlantic is also our favorite way to book ANA first class or business class using points, due to the low number of points required.

That said, transferring points just because there’s a bonus usually doesn’t make sense. Ensure you have a redemption lined up first. Otherwise, your points are best left in your Citi ThankYou account, giving you more options to use them once you’re ready.

Hot Tip:

Did you know you can also move your Virgin Atlantic points into Virgin Red, the loyalty program of Virgin’s cruise line and hotels, instantly and freely? That means this transfer bonus could also help you get closer to more redemptions beyond just flying.

Final Thoughts

Through October 18, you can get 30% more points through a transfer bonus from Citi to Virgin Atlantic. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offers some great redemptions, like flying in ANA’s incredible business or first class, booking Delta One business class, or flying across the Atlantic for very few points with Virgin Atlantic itself.
