If you’ve been putting off signing up for CLEAR+, now might be the time to do it. CLEAR just emailed members to say its annual membership price is increasing on July 1.

We still don’t know exactly what the new price will be, but if you have an eligible American Express card that covers CLEAR+, you may want to use that benefit now and lock in today’s $209 price.

We just got word that CLEAR will increase the annual cost of a CLEAR+ membership — which currently costs $209 per year — beginning July 1, 2026. The catch? CLEAR’s email to members confirms a price hike is coming but doesn’t reveal what the new membership fee will be.

If you’re not familiar with CLEAR, the service lets you verify your identity using biometric screening instead of showing a physical ID at participating airport security checkpoints, helping you get through security faster.

The news also raises an important question if you get your CLEAR+ membership through an eligible American Express card. Will Amex increase its annual statement credit to keep covering the full cost once the higher membership price takes effect?

We’ve reached out to American Express for comment and asked whether it plans to increase the annual CLEAR+ statement credit on eligible cards. As of publishing time, we haven’t received a response.
