CLEAR Plus is getting a little pricier.

Starting July 1, 2025, the annual membership price for CLEAR Plus will increase to $209, as first reported by TPG and confirmed by CLEAR and American Express to Upgraded Points via email. This marks only the third price change in the company’s 15-year history.

Fortunately, many travelers can still offset the cost through credit card perks and partner discounts.

Here’s what you need to know about CLEAR’s price hike — and how to keep your out-of-pocket costs low.

CLEAR Plus Price Rising to $209 — Here’s Why

Starting July 1, 2025, the annual cost of CLEAR Plus will rise to $209. CLEAR says the increase supports continued investments in tech and service upgrades aimed at making airport travel faster and more convenient.

Over the past 3 years, CLEAR has expanded significantly, adding 45 new lanes and entering 19 more airports, increasing its presence by nearly 50% across the U.S.

CLEAR also introduced face-first EnVe Pods, which speed up verification and help over half of members clear the line in under 2 minutes. Looking ahead, the company is piloting touchless eGates, allowing travelers to simply scan and go — no ID or boarding pass needed.

These enhancements reflect CLEAR’s ongoing push to modernize the airport experience — and help justify the upcoming price increase.

Amex Increases CLEAR Plus Credit To Match New $209 Price

Starting July 1, 2025, American Express will increase its statement credit to $209 per year when you pay for an auto-renewing CLEAR Plus membership with an eligible Amex card.

Eligible cards include:

You must enroll in CLEAR Plus and pay for your membership with one of these Amex cards in order to receive this credit.

Additionally, United MileagePlus and Delta SkyMiles elite members and cardholders who receive complimentary or discounted CLEAR Plus memberships will also see their credits updated as shown in the following table:

Final Thoughts

CLEAR Plus is raising its price to $209 as it expands and improves its service. Luckily, American Express is increasing its statement credit to match the hike for select cards, helping many cardholders avoid extra costs. If you travel often, using an eligible Amex card or signing up before July 1 can save you money while still enjoying CLEAR’s benefits.
