The cost of a round-trip ticket to Europe in business class with Air France usually prices around $4,000 (or more, depending where in the U.S. you’re flying from).

When we figured out that you can currently get a one-way for less than $1,200, we couldn’t wait to tell you.

Air France Fare Deal — Details

This isn’t just your average deal.

To secure yourself this bargain to Paris in business class, there are a couple of steps to go through first.

This superbe offer is thanks to 2 limited-time promotions: a generous bonus when buying Flying Blue miles or Virgin Atlantic Points plus cheap redemption rates on Air France flights to Paris via both programs.

Confused? We’ll break it down in just a second.

  • Class: Business
  • Routes: U.S. cities (including the West Coast) to Paris
  • Dates: June to December 2025
  • Rates: From $1,198 one-way

Here are the pre-booking steps you’ll need to take to book with either of the programs.

Air France-KLM Flying Blue

You can currently book Air France business class for 60,000 Flying Blue miles each way over the ocean. There’s wide-open availability this summer from cities across the U.S., including Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Newark (EWR), New York City (JFK), Seattle (SEA), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

Thanks to the current offer to buy Flying Blue miles with up to an 80% bonus, you can buy the 120,000 miles needed to book a round-trip from the U.S. to Paris for just $2,074.

Alternatively, if you only need a one-way flight, you can buy the 60,000 miles required for $1,037.

Buying the miles is quick and simple. All you need to do is log in to your Flying Blue account and head to the ‘Buy Miles’ section.

Take this example of a one-way flight from Miami (MIA) to Paris in Air France business class. You’d buy the 60,000 miles needed for $1,037 (as seen above) and then have an additional €208 ($238) to pay for the taxes and fees when making a redemption. That’s how you can fly to Paris this summer in a lie-flat Air France business class seat for just $1,275

Booking that exact same ticket with cash would cost $3,538. So, making the most of the method detailed above, you’d save a whopping $2,263!

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

If you thought that was a bargain, you can get it even cheaper by going through the same process with Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club.

It’s cheaper for 2 reasons: Virgin is currently charging fewer miles for the same Air France business-class seats than Air France’s own loyalty program, and you can buy Virgin Points cheaper than Flying Blue miles.

Taking a look at the availability on seats.aero, you can get the same business-class seat flying Air France from the U.S. to Paris in for just 48,500 Virgin Points each way.

Note that Virgin’s availability starts in November and runs until February next year, and it doesn’t include the summer months like Air France’s offer.

The current offer of a 40% bonus when buying Virgin points means you’ll pay $897 for the 48,500 Virgin Points needed for a one-way redemption.

If you need a round-trip, buying the 112,000 Virgin Points required would cost you $1,772.

From Newark (EWR) to Paris, you can redeem a one-way flight in Air France business class for 48,500 Virgin Points plus $301 in taxes and fees.

Tallying up the $897 to buy the miles and the $301 in taxes and fees, this one-way business-class ticket from Newark to Paris with Air France would cost just $1,198!

That’s a saving of $860 against buying the fare with cash.

Note that taxes and fees on the return leg from Europe to the U.S. are always higher.

Hot Tip:

The total cost of a one-way flight in the other direction — from Europe back to the U.S. — will cost you more, as the additional taxes and fees will be higher. This is worth factoring in when planning which direction to redeem if you’re just planning a one-way.

Best Ways To Book

With this particular deal, you’ll need to book directly via either Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue or Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, as per the steps detailed above.

This might be a points booking, but you’ll have to spend a decent amount of cash to buy the points as well as cover the taxes and fees. When buying the miles and paying for the taxes and fees with a travel rewards credit card, you’ll earn points on the purchase as well as more potential perks and benefits.

Final Thoughts

This deal is the universe telling you it’s time to take that lie-flat flight to Paris. We don’t expect this sweet combination of a points bonus and reduced award rates to be around for long, so this isn’t one to sleep on.
