Delta recalls the best books from my childhood with its newest promotion, “Choose Your Own Adventure,” which provides bonus miles or Delta eCredits for eligible members.

Not everyone will have the same offer — or might not see any offer at all. Let’s take a look at this new Delta promotion available for targeted members.

Delta ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ Promotion Details

Delta Air Lines is targeting some SkyMiles members with a unique offer, available on the promotions page here (must be logged in).

Dubbed “Choose Your Own Adventure,” Delta is offering eCredits and bonus miles for completing predetermined activities. My offers include up to 2,000 bonus SkyMiles and up to $115 in eCredits (split between 2 offers).

If you’re eligible, you’ll see an Enroll button on your promotions page. You must activate this offer by October 16, 2024.

Clicking on Details & Terms will show your available offers, indicating the activities you must complete, what you’ll earn, and the deadline for completion. My offers provide a $40 eCredit after completing a 3-day car rental or 3-night stay at a hotel or vacation rental, booked through Delta Stays; 2,000 bonus miles after joining SkyMiles Dining and spending $30 within 30 days; or a $75 eCredit after booking and flying in Delta Comfort+ using my enrolled Delta Amex credit card.

Once enrolled, refresh your promotions page to see this offer under “Currently Enrolled Promotions” and an overview of your offers. That will outline the offer end dates and remind you of the eligible offers in your account. My offers all end on January 16, 2025.

Is It Worth It?

Answering this question will depend on whether you’re targeted at all for this promotion and, if you are, what your specific offers look like. Two of my 3 offers require travel, and neither of the travel offers (the $40 or $75 eCredits) feels like it’s particularly worth going out of my way for. If I had an upcoming flight for which Delta is the best option, I could weigh the buy-up to Comfort+ and make a determination based on that.

The dining offer should be easier to achieve since we all have to eat anyway, and the $30 threshold will be very easy to meet or exceed in just 1 or 2 meals. According to our valuations, Delta SkyMiles are worth 1.2 cents apiece, so 2,000 of them are worth about $24, not a bad return for a purchase I’d likely make anyway over the course of a month.

Again, though, the value proposition will come down entirely to what your offers are — if you have any, that is.

Final Thoughts

Delta’s running a new promotion that rewards SkyMiles members with redeemable SkyMiles and eCredits that can be used on future flight purchases. However, this is a targeted offer, so you’ll want to check your account to see if you’re targeted to participate. If you are, you could earn a nice bonus for qualifying purchases, especially if these fit into travel plans you’re still in the process of making.
