Delta Air Lines is offering complimentary Hilton elite status to some elites. Targeted Delta elites are given Hilton Gold or top-tier Diamond for 6 months and can extend Hilton elite status with lower requirements.

Here’s how to check if you’re eligible for this status match and how to extend your complimentary elite status through March 2025.

Delta Match to Hilton Gold or Diamond — What To Know

Travelers with existing Delta elite status can check their eligibility on this landing page. Click the “Unlock Your Status” button at the top of the page and sign in with your Delta SkyMiles and Hilton Honors accounts. Then, you can view your offer if you’re targeted.

Those targeted for the offer will receive Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond elite status for 6 months. Status can be extended through March 31, 2025, by meeting the following nightly stay requirements during the promotion period:

  • Hilton Honors Gold: 15 nights, normally requires 40 nights
  • Hilton Honors Diamond: 25 nights, normally requires 60 nights

If you’re targeted, register by December 31, 2024.

I currently have Delta Platinum Medallion with existing Hilton Honors Gold status earned automatically from one of my credit cards. I was targeted for the Hilton Diamond match, and the new status tier posted instantly to my account after enrolling in the promotion. However, the promotion page notes it could take 72 hours for the status to reflect.

Further, a promotion running in the other direction offers Delta elite status to Hilton’s elite members. Members can get Delta Silver Medallion or Gold Medallion status. This status is also valid for 6 months and can be extended by meeting certain requirements.

Hot Tip:

If you weren’t targeted for this offer, there are numerous other hotel status match and status challenge offers available that can help you shortcut your way to elite status.

Final Thoughts

Free elite status is always a good thing, so if you’re a Delta elite, it’s worth checking to see if you’re targeted for complimentary Hilton elite status.

On the high end, Hilton’s top-tier Diamond status includes space-available room upgrades, a 100% points bonus on stays, hotel lounge access, and a food and beverage credit or continental breakfast, among other benefits.

It’s interesting to see Delta and Hilton expand their partnership this year. Earlier this year, Delta offered bonus Hilton Honors points when flying select Delta flights. As mentioned earlier, Hilton is also offering a targeted status match to Delta’s elite status. We’re hopeful that Delta and Hilton will expand their partnership in 2025.
