The countdown to the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics is on.

With 100 days to go, Delta has launched an auction where Sky Miles members can bid to attend select events at the Games.

Additionally, Delta has revealed a striking new livery to celebrate the occasion and flaunt its status as the official airline of Team USA. Let’s take a closer look at what the airline is up to.

Bid Delta SkyMiles for Winter Olympics 2026 Packages

The livery is gorgeous, but we know you’re here for the SkyMiles auction.

When Delta launched the packages today, October 29, the bids started at 50,000 miles for each of the 4 packages on offer. SkyMiles members must log in to their accounts, enabling them to bid in increments of 1,000 SkyMiles.

“These curated packages offer our Members unique opportunities to engage with Team USA at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our Members,” said Alicia Tilman, chief marketing officer at Delta.

Aspiring bidders have until November 20 at 3 p.m. ET to shoot their shot.

Each package includes tickets to 2 or 3 events, plus hotel and airport transfers. Curiously, Delta chose not to include flights to and from Italy in the packages.

One of the packages, from February 4 to 8, even includes tickets to the coveted opening ceremony.

The lucky winning bidder of this particular package will get to take a companion of their choice to enjoy 4 nights in a hotel, plus tickets for the following 3 Olympic events:

  • Women’s ice hockey preliminary round 3 on Thursday, February 5
  • Winter Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, February 6
  • Women’s speed skating 3000-meter event on Saturday, February 7

How To Get to the Olympics in Italy

Whether you’re an auction winner or not, you’ll still have to book your own flights to Milan (MXP).

If you don’t mind flying in economy, there are currently some excellent deals on nonstop, round-trip fares with Delta starting at just $403.

As the economy cash rates are such great value, we wouldn’t recommend going for any of the very high redemption rates below. 495,000 miles one-way in business class is ludicrously high!

However, there are still options if you’ve got a stash of credit card points to burn. A great program to book Delta flights using points is Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, where you can find one-ways in business class to Europe from 47,500 points.

Final Thoughts

Delta’s Olympic package auction is a creative way to incentivize SkyMiles members to part with their miles for memorable experiences. However, with just over 3 weeks of time left to bid, we’d expect the winners to end up spending significantly more than the starting bid of 50,000 SkyMiles.
