IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury presence in Thailand and has announced a new resort in Koh Chang.

Here’s what to know about the resort.

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection To Open in 2024

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection will have 166 rooms along the Klong Prao Beach. While little is known about the property, it will have 5 restaurants and bars, over 8,000 square feet of meeting spaces, a swimming pool, a spa, and a fitness center.

The resort is on one of Thailand’s most picturesque islands, Koh Chang. The island is known for its pristine beaches, snorkeling and diving, and the Koh Chang Marine National Park. Koh Chang is accessible to travelers coming from mainland Thailand via a 5-hour drive from Bangkok, followed by a 15-minute ferry ride.

The resort is a conversion of the former Emerald Resort Koh Chang and will join the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio in 2024, though an exact opening date wasn’t given.

“Koh Chang is a wonderful destination that enables visitors to enjoy a different type of beach experience that is more laidback and relaxing and far from the bustle of the city,” said Pattranit Mahattanawisit, Managing Director at Dinso Resort Co.

Bottom Line:

Vignette Collection is IHG Hotels & Resorts’ first collection brand. The brand targets luxury and lifestyle travelers seeking “one-of-a-kind” stays. You’ll find Vignette Collection properties worldwide in Bangkok, Brisbane, Dubai, Lisbon, Porto, and Washington, D.C.

Booking IHG Hotels & Resorts in Thailand

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang won’t open until next year. But don’t worry; IHG has an impressive collection of luxury hotels and resorts in Thailand.

Over 2 dozen IHG hotels in Thailand — across 9 brands in Thailand — participate in IHG One Rewards. These include 2 other Vignette Collection hotels: Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok, Vignette Collection.

For instance, you’ll find award stays at the Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok starting at just 18,000 points per night for dates next April. Cash rates are also available at a reasonable price of $100 per night.

It’s easy to earn IHG One Rewards points. You can transfer Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG at a 1:1 ratio or open a co-branded IHG credit card, which all come with decent welcome bonuses.

Final Thoughts

IHG seems to be all-in on expanding across Thailand. The chain is rapidly signing and converting existing properties into luxury hotels, which means you’ll be able to earn and redeem points when they open. While the Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang is still under renovation, check out IHG’s other hotels before your next trip to Thailand!
