Ennismore announced today that it will bring its fashion-forward SO/ hotel brand to Budapest, Hungary, in 2026.

Here’s what you need to know.

Debut of the SO/ Brand in Hungary

SO/ Budapest will have 350 guest rooms, including 56 suites and 2 presidential suites.

Amenities will include 4 dining outlets, a spa, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and meeting and event spaces. In 2026, following upgrades to the building’s interior and exterior, the hotel will convert from the exciting Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge to SO/ Budapest.

“We are thrilled to bring SO/’s avant-garde design and creative approach to Hungary for the first time,” Brand Chief Operating Officer Chadi Farhat said. “SO/ exudes an ultra-chic social vibe that fits Budapest and merges culture through its wealth of UNESCO World Heritage sites with elegant modernity. Making a stylish statement, SO/ Budapest will undoubtedly become a destination for locals and travelers alike.”

Bottom Line:

Ennismore has an exciting hotel pipeline for the Hungarian market. The chain says it will open 25hours, JO&JOE, and Mama Shelter brands in Budapest “over the next few years.”

Booking SO/ Hotels

SO/ launched in 2011 and is today known for its avant-garde design and eclectic approaches to fashion. This can be found in associates’ attire, room designs, and partnerships with the fashion industry.

One of the smaller Ennismore brands, SO/ has 10 hotels open in 9 countries and 11 hotels in the development pipeline. SO/ is part of the Ennismore family, which participates in the ALL–Accor Live Limitless program, which allows you to earn and redeem points at its properties.

Some of the brand’s best hotels include the SO/ Maldives, a 5-star resort located on a private island. This family-friendly boutique resort has just 80 beach and ocean villas with private pools. Such luxury comes at a price, so you can expect to pay well over $1,000 per night to stay here later in the year.

Ennismore also has its own loyalty program, Dis-loyalty. It’s not the typical rewards program in that you won’t earn elite status or bonus points. However, it offers some exciting perks like hotel stays and dining discounts for just $18 monthly.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news for Ennismore. Budapest is quickly growing as a premier travel destination, so opening an SO/ property in the heart of the city makes sense. While we wait for the hotel to open, check out the SO/ brand’s other hotels and resorts worldwide for a true fashion-forward stay!
