Philadelphia is getting a new airport lounge soon, and if you have the right card in your wallet, you may get access for free.

The 1,500-square-foot Escape Lounge is expected to open this year in Terminal D at PHL, an airport with an already solid list of lounges available for travelers.

Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

New Escape Lounge Opening at Philadelphia International Airport

Escape Lounge is opening a new location in Terminal D at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), with an expected opening this year, potentially as early as August 2026.

Coming in at just 1,550 square feet, this will be a relatively small lounge with capacity for about 50 guests at a time. The lounge is expected to feature a full bar, light dining options, charging stations, and Wi-Fi.

Escape Lounge is an independently owned group of lounges usually found at smaller and midsize airports, with walk-up admission often costing between $45 and $60 per visit.

The list of lounges in Philadelphia is already quite long, including multiple American Airlines Admirals Clubs, an American Express Centurion Lounge, a Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, a Delta Sky Club, and a United Club. This will be a nice addition for those who may not have access to the current options.

How To Get In for Free

Some Escape Lounge locations are part of the Priority Pass network, but it’s unclear if the Philadelphia location will be included in that list.

However, entry to any Escape Lounge is complimentary for cardholders of the Platinum Card® from American ExpressThe Business Platinum Card® from American ExpressDelta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card (when flying Delta), Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card (when flying Delta), and Centurion® Card from American Express.

Those with all but the Delta Reserve card and the Delta Reserve Business card may also bring up to 2 guests inside the lounge with them for no additional charge.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

Philadelphia is getting a new 1,500-square-foot Escape Lounge in Terminal D sometime this year.

For travelers who dont have access to the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club or the Delta SkyClub in Terminal D, this option will fill the gap nicely when making a short connection. Plus, if you have an Amex Platinum card, you’ll have complimentary access to this lounge when it opens.
