Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Airlines and hotels will often team up to provide reciprocal benefits for travelers, and this latest partnership is no exception.

Etihad Airways, one of the world’s leading airlines based in Abu Dhabi, has launched a partnership with Hyatt, one of the largest global hotel chains.

If you have a World of Hyatt loyalty account (it’s free to sign up!), you can now register to earn 1,000 Etihad Guest miles per stay this February and March by linking your membership together by February 29, 2024.

Etihad Guest and World of Hyatt Launch New Partnership

It’s no secret that World of Hyatt is one of our favorite hotel loyalty programs here at Upgraded Points. It offers an expansive portfolio of resorts and hotels worldwide, with meaningful earning and redemption opportunities.

The loyalty program also maintains a few partnerships in the travel realm, including American Airlines, FIND Experiences, and formerly, Lindblad Expeditions. Travelers who link their loyalty accounts together in advance can double-dip on earning rewards through both programs.

Thanks to this newest partnership, World of Hyatt members can now earn 1,000 bonus Etihad Guest miles per stay upon completing the following requirements:

  • Register for the promotion by February 29, 2024
  • Complete a stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort between February 1 and March 30, 2024, with a paid or award booking

That’s a pretty generous offer, considering you’ll still get the Etihad Guest miles on top of any Hyatt points earned (5x base points per dollar spent).

Hyatt says it could take up to 6 to 8 weeks for the Etihad Guest miles to be credited to your account.

How to Maximize Etihad Guest Miles

Etihad Guest miles are worth 1.4 cents apiece, according to our valuations. In other words, 1,000 miles is worth about $14, which isn’t much on its own. But they can add up the more Hyatt stays you have in February and March.

However, Etihad’s frequent flyer program shouldn’t be overlooked. You can get some outsized redemption value, especially for these business class flights:

  • Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Seoul (ICN): 75,000 miles
  • New York (JFK) to Madrid (MAD): 80,000 miles
  • Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo (HND): 120,000 miles

You can also transfer Amex Membership Rewards points, Capital One Miles, and Citi ThankYou points to Etihad Guest at a 1:1 ratio.

Hot Tip:

In 2023, Etihad launched a new zone-based award chart that devalued a bunch of sweet spots. Still, the program made 1 positive change: the ability to book American Airlines and Virgin Australia partner award tickets online.

Final Thoughts

There’s virtually no cost to World of Hyatt members to register for this great new promotion. We won’t say no to 1,000 free Etihad Guest miles per stay, considering they can be used for future award flights!
