Are you a die-hard Hello Kitty fan? EVA Air, Taiwan’s flag carrier, will fly a jet with a Hello Kitty livery between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Taipei (TPE), and we want to help you get on board.

Let’s take a look at this unique flight and how you can book it with points and miles!

Hello Kitty Livery Flying 3x Weekly on ORD-TPE Route

These special EVA Air flights, BR55 and BR56, will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during the summer schedule. During the winter, the special aircraft livery will fly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The Hello Kitty jet — which features Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Kuromi — is being operated on the 3-cabin Boeing 777-300ER. The fun design isn’t located just outside of the aircraft, either. Inside, headrests and place settings are also adorned in the Hello Kitty design.

“Chicago is a vital leisure and commercial hub in the United States, and we’re excited to launch Hello Kitty Besties Jet on the Chicago-Taipei route,” said EVA President Clay Sun.

Bottom Line:

This is EVA Air’s fourth aircraft with a Hello Kitty livery. The airline also flies the “BAD BADTZ-MARU Travel Fun” to the Philippines, while Celebration Flight and Joyful Dream will alternate on flights to Indonesia and the Philippines.

How To Book the Hello Kitty Jet

EVA Air’s inaugural Hello Kitty Besties flight took off on August 29, 2024, but the fun continues.

You can book these flights, which operate 3x weekly, with cash or by using points and miles. If you pay cash, economy flights from Chicago start at around $1,120 round-trip this fall and winter.

If you prefer to save money, we recommend using points and miles to book your flight. Thankfully, EVA Air is a Star Alliance member, so booking flights with the airline is pretty straightforward.

One of the easiest ways to book EVA Air flights is with Air Canada Aeroplan points. The program uses a combination of a zone-based and distance-based award chart. That means the further you fly, the more you’ll pay. In this case, the distance between Chicago and Taipei is 7,457 miles, which means one-way economy and business-class flights would start at 50,000 points and 75,000 points, respectively.

Aeroplan points are some of the easiest airline currencies you can earn, thanks to its co-branded credit cards and many transfer partners.

Other options for booking EVA Air flights from Chicago include Avianca LifeMiles (from 47,000 miles one-way in economy) and ANA Mileage Club (from 60,000 miles round-trip in economy or 95,000 miles round-trip in business).

Final Thoughts

If you’re a big fan of the Hello Kitty world, this is a fantastic opportunity to fly on EVA Air’s special livery from Chicago to Taipei.

Even better, you can book a seat on 1 of these flights using points and miles. There’s a ton of award availability!
