If you’re familiar with The Breakers hotel in Long Beach, California, here’s some good news for you.
Fairmont The Breakers, Long Beach, is reopening in 2023 as a luxury boutique hotel.
Here’s what you need to know!
Fairmont Signs Agreement for New Hotel in Long Beach
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal with a Long Beach investment group for the Fairmont The Breakers, Long Beach, slated to open next year.
The property will feature 185 guest rooms and suites, which are broken down by the following:
- 124 King Rooms
- 37 Double Queen
- 13 Junior Suites
- 11 Suites
The hotel will also have a rooftop pool and lounge (with views of the Pacific Ocean), more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, and 5 dining options.
The hotel originally opened in the 1920s, and stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, Babe Ruth, and Clark Gable made frequent appearances. Fairmont said that the hotel is undergoing “significant” restoration and redevelopment.
The property will join the ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty program, though, with cash costs unknown, it’s unclear how much award nights will cost at this time. ALL points have a fixed redemption value of €40 (~$41) off for every 2,000 Reward points you redeem, which is equal to about 2.05 cents per point.
“Fairmont is renowned for the brand’s iconic, history-making properties, and The Breakers now becomes a part of that global legacy,” Heather McCrory, CEO of Accor North & Central America, said in a statement.
“The project will set the standard for luxury hospitality in Long Beach, bringing to life a vibrant and thriving destination appealing to locals and visitors alike,” the statement continued.
McCrory said another Fairmont property is in the pipeline in Los Angeles, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics.
Part of the Accor family, Fairmont has nearly 100 hotels around the world.
The redeveloped Breakers hotel joins an impressive list of hotels in California, including the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica, Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, Claremont Club & Spa in the Bay Area, and the flagship Fairmont San Francisco.
