Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has signaled a Caribbean expansion with the announcement of a new resort in the Dominican Republic that’s set to open in a few years.

Here’s what you need to know about this forthcoming luxury property.

Four Seasons Expands in the Caribbean

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the development of the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia.

The resort, situated along the northeast part of the country, will have 95 rooms and 25 private residences, all with beach access. Amenities will include a spa, fitness and wellness facilities, a kids club, several restaurants and bars, and event spaces.

The resort is scheduled to open for guests in early 2026.

In announcing the news, Alejandro Reynal, Four Seasons President and CEO, noted that the Dominican Republic has “long been focused on as a luxury travel destination” for the hotelier.

William Phelan, President of Tropicalia, said that the Dominican Republic’s close distance from U.S. hubs, as well as interest from travelers in Europe and Latin America, have made it attractive to travelers from all over.

“Four Seasons will bring a new level of luxury hospitality to the Dominican Republic, a premier Caribbean destination located about four hours by plane from New York and two and a half hours from Miami,” said Phelan.

This will mark the Four Seasons’ entry into the Dominican Republic. The brand has a strong presence across the Caribbean and Latin America, with resorts in Anguilla, the Bahamas, and Nevis, among others.

About Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

The Four Seasons brand is synonymous with luxury, and it’s become one of the world’s most well-known international luxury hotel brands since its founding in the 1960s.

You can expect a detailed-oriented service culture, opulent hotel rooms, and reinvigorating spa experiences at any Four Seasons property. Today, the brand has 126 hotels and resorts and 53 residential properties in 47 countries. Dozens more are currently in the pipeline.

Four Seasons isn’t just known for its unrivaled extravagant hotels. The hotel chain has offered fully-inclusive itineraries onboard a private jet since 2013, which cost more than $100,000 per person. In 2025, Four Seasons Yachts will launch, offering a luxury experience at sea.

Hot Tip:

While Four Seasons doesn’t have a loyalty program, elite status, or points, you can take advantage of high-end perks through the invitation-only Four Seasons Preferred Partner program.

Final Thoughts

This is great news for Four Seasons fans, who will have a new luxury option in the Caribbean in the next few years. While we wait for this resort to open, make sure to check out Four Seasons’ other resorts across North America!
