Santa Monica has long been a frustrating destination for Hyatt loyalists seeking a top-tier redemption, but that’s finally changing.

A newly added oceanfront hotel is finally filling that gap, giving World of Hyatt members what’s been missing here for years: a stay right on the sand in one of Ocean Avenue’s most recognizable buildings.

Here’s what you need to know about Hyatt’s newest addition.

The Georgian Hotel Joins Hyatt as a Category 6 Beachfront Property

The Georgian Hotel has officially joined the World of Hyatt as part of the Unbound Collection, giving Hyatt members a much-needed beachfront option in Santa Monica.

The historic Art Deco property — originally opened in 1933 — recently went through a full restoration and now blends its old-school Hollywood vibe with a fresh, modern update.

The hotel has 84 rooms, including 28 suites, and a good number of them come with direct ocean views. On-site, you’ll find a California-focused restaurant, a cocktail bar that leans into the hotel’s history, and a café that opens right onto Ocean Avenue. The property feels more like a lively local spot than a typical resort.

And honestly, that’s the biggest draw here. The hotel sits directly across from the beach on Ocean Avenue — not a few blocks back like Hyatt’s only other option nearby, which joined Hyatt recently as well.

That’s what makes this news stand out. You’re a stone’s throw away from the Santa Monica Pier, the beach path, and plenty of dining and shopping — making it one of the few Hyatt stays in Los Angeles where you can realistically skip renting a car and still have everything within reach.

Hot Tip:

Santa Monica actually has another Category 6 Hyatt — the Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica — but it’s located a few blocks inland. The Georgian Hotel, by contrast, delivers a true beachfront stay right on Ocean Avenue.

Booking The Georgian With Points

As a Category 6 World of Hyatt property, award nights at the Georgian Hotel cost 21,000 points during off-peak dates, 25,000 points on standard dates, and 29,000 points during peak pricing.

For a true oceanfront hotel in Santa Monica, this pricing is compelling. Cash rates start at $500 per night and rise during busier periods, especially during summer and holidays, making this a strong way to redeem Hyatt points.

Availability also looks solid right now, with plenty of open award space across the calendar. If you’re trying to lock in specific dates, tools like MaxMyPoint can help you quickly spot availability and plan your redemption.

World of Hyatt points can be earned by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to the program at a 1:1 ratio. Hyatt also has 2 co-branded credit cards — 1 personal and 1 business — offering big welcome bonuses and entry-level Discoverist status.

Final Thoughts

This is a big win for World of Hyatt fans. Santa Monica has long been a tough spot for points redemptions — especially near the beach. Now, there’s finally an enticing option.

The Georgian Hotel delivers a true oceanfront stay in an iconic building on Ocean Avenue, just steps from the Santa Monica Pier and the beach — something Hyatt has been missing here for years.
