Ever heard of GHA Discovery? It’s not a hotel program we cover often, though this loyalty program covers more than 800 properties worldwide. Its brands include Kempinski, Viceroy, Anantara, NH Collection, and more.

Now, as first reported by View From the Wing, GHA Discovery is offering an absurdly generous status match. Whether you have a premium credit card or even airline elite status, you can now match to top-tier status with GHA. Let’s take a look at the details

GHA Discovery Status Matching Promotion

GHA Discovery is offering the ability to status match all the way to its top-tier status, Titanium, though Platinum is also available. And for many of us, Titanium is the tier you’ll want to achieve. And that’s possible with an incredibly generous offer for those with Visa Infinite credit cards.

Examples of Visa Infinite cards include:

To match, head over to GHA’s promotion page. There are a few key pieces of information you’ll want to take into account:

  • The promotion runs through December 16, 2024.
  • Status is valid through December 31, 2025.
  • There is an application fee: $150 for Titanium and $100 for Platinum.
  • This is a 1-time status match offer.

Tons of other hotel, cruise line, and airline statuses are valid for status matching, all of which you can find on GHA’s FAQ page. Here are some notable options for matching to Titanium status:

  • Hilton Diamond
  • Hyatt Globalist
  • Marriott Platinum
  • Choice Diamond
  • American Airlines Platinum Pro
  • United Airlines Premier Platinum

And here are some options for matching to Platinum status:

  • Hilton Silver
  • Hyatt Discoverist
  • Marriott Silver
  • IHG Silver
  • United Premier Silver
  • American Airlines Gold

As you can see, many of these statuses can be garnered from other credit cards. At the Platinum level, there are even matches available from status earned with a credit card that has no annual fee.

Many rewards programs require you to have a corresponding status tier in a competitor’s program to get a status match. This offer from GHA Discovery is unique in offering you automatic elite just from the cards in your wallet.

Benefits of GHA Discovery Status

GHA Discovery elite status is fairly generous, especially when you’re looking at Titanium status. Still, even Platinum offers solid perks:

  • 6% back in rewards currency
  • Room upgrade
  • 3 p.m. late checkout
  • Welcome amenity on arrival
  • Free Wi-Fi

Titanium’s benefits are even better:

  • 7% back in rewards currency
  • Double room upgrade
  • 4 p.m. late checkout
  • 11 a.m. early check-in
  • Free breakfast at participating brands

These are in line with what you’ll see from mid- and top-tier elite statuses at other hotel chains, though you’ll never catch Marriott and Hyatt allowing you to match to their top-tier status simply by holding a credit card from another rewards program.

Final Thoughts

This is an incredibly generous status match opportunity from GHA Discovery, especially if you have a Visa Infinite credit card that gets you to top-tier status without needing to hold elite status in any other loyalty program. Although there’s a fee to apply, the benefits you’ll receive can far outweigh the cost. If you’re interested, be sure to apply before the promotion ends on December 16, 2024.
