Finding a way to use the semi-annual Dell credits offered by The Business Platinum Card® from American Express can be difficult. After all, how many extra monitors do you need?

Fortunately for you, we’re experts at sifting through sales (and Dell’s altogether too-clunky website) to find the best products available.

Whether you’re looking to treat yourself or the loved ones in your life, here are 12 excellent ways to use your Dell credit from the Amex Business Platinum card.

What Is the Amex Business Platinum Card Dell Credit?

For those who are confused by what we mean when we say “Dell credit,” the Amex Business Platinum card offers statement credits to its cardholders each year. These include credits from Indeed, Adobe, and — you guessed it — Dell.

The Amex Business Platinum card provides $400 annually in credits at Dell, distributed semi-annually. That means you’ll get $200 worth of credits in January and another $200 in July. These expire every 6 months and must be redeemed, or else you lose the credit.

Now let’s talk about those gifts.

Expandable Travel Backpack

We’re big fans of travel here at Upgraded Points, which is why we’re starting off strong with the TimBuk2 Never Check Expandable Backpack. Ringing in at $199, this bag is well-reviewed and comes with plenty of compartments to hold all your stuff. It also takes up that $200 credit pretty evenly.

Wireless Battery Bank

Dead batteries are never fun, especially so when you need your phone for Google Maps, finding your hotel, and making contactless payments. That’s why a portable battery is at the top of the list for many travelers.

Not only does the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Power Bank allow you to charge your electronics on the go, but it also has the option to do so wirelessly. Who needs their cables getting twisted anyway?

Portable Monitor

If you’re one of the many who drag their work with them wherever they go, a portable monitor is essential. Dell’s portable monitor ranges from 14 inches all the way to 34 inches, though the latter is going to have a tough time fitting into a backpack. The 14-inch version is currently on sale for $289 and will arrive prior to Christmas, a holiday miracle in and of itself.

Xbox Controllers

Dell isn’t just computer-related accessories and technology. Anyone digging deep into its catalog will be able to spot some really interesting options, including gift cards, VR headsets, and products for gamers. This includes wireless Xbox controllers, which are a must-have for anyone with more than a single person in their household.

Worldwide Travel Adapter

Raise your hand if you’ve ever gotten to a hotel, went to plug in your cell phone, and realized you’d forgotten an adapter. At the price point of this World Power AC travel adapter, you’ll be able to buy enough to shove 1 in your backpack, a couple of different suitcases, and even down your sock, so you’ll never be without power while abroad again.

Playstation 5 Bundle

Dell doesn’t just do gaming accessories. A PlayStation 5 bundle isn’t going to be wholly covered by your Dell credit, but scoring $200 off one of the hottest gifts of the year is sure to take away some of the sting.

Hot Tip:

Use a shopping portal such as Rakuten to get up to 10% back on your Dell purchases!

Portable Speaker

Dell’s website actually has a few different options from which to choose, but the JBL Flip 6 Portable Waterproof Speaker is among our favorites thanks to its affordable price and the fact that it’s waterproof. It also sports a solid 5-star rating from 20 different reviewers.

Ring Video Doorbell

Who wants to get off the couch to see who’s knocking at their door? We don’t, which is why we’ve already invested in a Ring Video Doorbell (thanks, Dell credits!), which allows you to record motion, receive visitors, and answer calls — all without the need to lift a toe.

Fitbit Watch

Fitbit is the originator of the smart fitness watch, and it shows in its technology. Although competitors such as Google, Samsung, and Apple provide fitness data on their watches, Fitbit’s long tenure means its products are well-developed and trustworthy. You’ll find the whole range of Fitbit watches on Dell’s site, but the Fitbit Versa is especially good for the Dell credit since it’ll redeem it all in one go.

Noise Cancelling Headphones

Whether you’re stuck next to a crying baby on the plane or making a pilgrimage to your local mall, the loud sounds of other people can sometimes be a little too much. Fortunately for us, there is a whole section of Bose products from which to choose from Dell, including these newly-debuted Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.

Widely considered to provide the best noise-cancellation technology in the industry, you don’t even need to play music to drown out the sound. Simply pop these in and turn them on, and you’ll be able to enjoy the blissful sound of silence.

Echo Show

Not everyone needs a smart home, but wouldn’t it be cool to have a gigantic digital picture frame that also played movies, told jokes, and gave you recipes? Maybe we’re preaching to an empty room, but the Echo Show 15 can do all of the above as well as control all the smart features you have at home. It even comes with a nifty remote in case Alexa can’t understand you yelling at her to play Jingle Bell Rock for the 40th time in a row.

Smart Thermostat

A must-have for anyone who pays for electricity, the Google Nest learning thermostat teaches itself your routine so there’s no need for programming. This is the latest model and pricing compares to anywhere else you’ll find, so if you’ve been in the market to save some money, skip out on the Amazon purchase and instead opt for Dell.

Final Thoughts

Coming up with creative ways to use your Dell credits can be difficult, especially if you’ve had your Amex Business Platinum card for a few years. Instead of buying yet another mouse for your friends and family, opt for one of these excellent gifts. The lucky recipients will thank you!
