Hilton recently announced that it would acquire Graduate Hotels, and the brand is already making big waves with new hotels on or near U.S. college campuses. The first Graduate hotel in Alabama has just opened near the campus of Auburn University.

Here’s what you need to know.

Graduate Kicks Off in Alabama

Graduate by Hilton Auburn, AL, is a whopping 140,000 square feet with 177 guest rooms.

Amenities include 10,000 square feet of meeting space, 2 restaurants, and a fitness center. The hotel is also pet-friendly (for a $75 fee).

Keeping to the university’s theme, the hotel features several Auburn nods, like the War Eagle Supper Club and bar stools with the number “34,” a reference to football legend Bo Jackson.

In announcing the news, Hilton hinted at both Auburn’s status as 1 of the largest universities in the South and its massive fanbase as reasons for opening a Graduate Hotels property there.

“Our goal was to create a space that pays tribute to Auburn’s people, culture, and the enduring legacy that makes this place truly special for guests, students, and alumni alike,” said Kevin Osterhaus, president of global lifestyle brands.

Bottom Line:

Earlier this year, Hilton announced plans to acquire the Graduate Hotels brand. The brand is known for being located in college towns near campuses like the University of Georgia and Penn State. However, Graduate Hotels are also in cities not known for being college towns, such as New York. Now that the brand is integrated into Hilton Honors, you can earn and redeem points at Graduate Hotels properties.

Booking Graduate by Hilton Auburn, AL

Graduate by Hilton Auburn, AL, is now open for guests. Like other Graduate properties, the hotel is participating in the Hilton Honors program, meaning you can earn and redeem points during your stay.

If you’re looking for an affordable stay for the football season, you’re in luck. Cash rates this fall start as low as $155 per night. Award stays on weeknights start at just 43,000 points per night. However, weekend rates (when the Auburn Tigers play) range between 48,000 and 70,000 points per night.

Hilton Honors points are probably the easiest hotel points you can earn. That’s because there are several ways to earn points, even without staying at a Hilton hotel. You can earn points by transferring from American Express Membership Rewards or Bilt Rewards, opening a Hilton co-branded card, or taking part in activities such as the Hilton Honors Dining program.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news, as the Graduate Hotels brand opens a gorgeous new hotel near the campus of Auburn University, just in time for college football season. That the hotel is also affordable with cash and points — even on game days — makes this news even sweeter. If you’re cheering on the Tigers, make sure to book a stay at the Graduate by Hilton Auburn!
