Graduate by Hilton New York has abruptly shut down and canceled all bookings, effective immediately. Guests with future reservations should check their emails and begin searching for alternative lodging options.

Here’s what you need to know.

Graduate by Hilton New York Closes

As first reported by Loyalty Lobby and then confirmed to Upgraded Points by a Hilton representative, Graduate by Hilton New York has shut down, effective November 25, 2025, at 12:01 a.m., with all future reservations officially canceled. The hotel has also been removed from the hotel giant’s booking system.

Hilton also told us that the property is, in fact, closing and will not be reflagged to another brand. Hilton is severing its affiliation with the property, and reservations are no longer being accepted.

Graduate by Hilton is a small collection of hotels that share “local history, charm, and pop culture nostalgia.” Often found in college towns with heavy sports themes, these properties are as popular as they are unique.

The New York location got great reviews from travelers, so this is unfortunate for both guests and staff.

What Guests Should Do Next

Guests with future reservations should check their Hilton account and email for official communication from Hilton.

If your trip is in the near future, you should contact Hilton to determine the type of compensation and/or relocation the chain is offering to impacted guests.

Hilton should relocate guests to a similar or higher-quality hotel, which is standard practice when a guest is “walked” from a hotel. However, there are reports that guests are being offered only 30,000 Hilton Honors points, which is insufficient for any other Hilton hotel in New York City.

Hot Tip:

Hilton is expecting a surge in calls as guests attempt to rebook their holiday travel plans. If your reservation is for later in 2026, it may be worth waiting until the dust settles before making a call.

Final Thoughts

Graduate by Hilton New York has closed, effective immediately. All future bookings have been canceled, and Hilton is contacting guests with compensation and relocation options. However, the offers appear to be insufficient for most travelers.

If you had a reservation, check your email and the Hilton app for official communication and start looking for alternative hotels as soon as possible, especially if you had plans to visit the city during the busy holiday season.
