Hyatt is expanding its Grand Hyatt brand with the opening of an upscale hotel in the heart of Barcelona, Spain.

Here’s what you need to know about Spain’s newest Hyatt property!

Grand Hyatt’s Fifth European Hotel

The Grand Hyatt Barcelona has 465 guest rooms, including 49 suites and 1 penthouse suite. Guests looking to be in the center of Barcelona are in luck: the hotel is a few minutes away from historical landmarks, dining and shopping, and, for football fans, Camp Nou, where FC Barcelona plays.

Amenities include 2 dining outlets — including a rooftop restaurant — a spa, a pool, 22 meeting rooms over 35,000 square feet, and a grand event space.

“Grand Hyatt Barcelona is another charismatic example of the iconic Grand Hyatt brand, offering a captivating accommodation set against impressive architecture and bold design,” said Franck Sibille, Area Vice President & General Manager of Grand Hyatt Barcelona.

Grand Hyatt is a luxury brand best known for its destination hotels, which celebrate the “uniqueness” of their location. At many Grand Hyatt hotels, you’ll find bold architecture, high-end dining concepts, and massive event spaces.

Bottom Line:

Hyatt has an impressive presence in Spain, with 50 properties spanning 8 brands currently open. Barcelona marks Hyatt’s fifth Grand Hyatt hotel in Europe.

Booking Grand Hyatt Barcelona

The Grand Hyatt Barcelona is now open for guests. It’s part of the World of Hyatt loyalty program, which means you can earn and redeem points at the hotel.

You’ll find cash rates around $330 per night for dates this fall. Given the high cash rates, you’re better off using World of Hyatt points.

Hyatt is 1 of the few major hotel chains still using an award chart. The Grand Hyatt Barcelona is a Category 5 property, so standard room awards start at 17,000 points per night and up to 23,000 points per night.

World of Hyatt points aren’t easy to earn; however, they are incredibly valuable — especially in Europe.

The easiest way to earn World of Hyatt points is by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. You can also earn them through welcome bonuses and spending on a co-branded credit card.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt’s newest Grand Hyatt in Barcelona is a true steal with World of Hyatt points.

With luxe amenities like a rooftop and spa, the Grand Hyatt Barcelona is sure to become 1 of the best ways to redeem Hyatt points in Spain!
