Hawaiian Airlines’ frequent flyer program has officially taken off under a new banner. As of October 1, 2025, HawaiianMiles is no more. It’s now fully integrated into Atmos Rewards, the joint loyalty program Alaska Airlines rebranded and relaunched in August.

If you’ve been stockpiling Hawaiian Airlines miles or holding onto Pualani elite status, here’s what you should expect now that the transition is live.

What Happens to Your Miles and Account?

The good news: Your HawaiianMiles didn’t disappear overnight. Every Hawaiian mile has automatically converted 1:1 into Atmos Rewards points now that HawaiianMiles is fully integrated into Alaska Airlines’ Atmos Rewards loyalty program. No action was required, and balances carried over seamlessly.

A few important changes to note:

  • New loyalty number: Your HawaiianMiles number no longer works. If you had an Alaska Airlines account, that number is now your Atmos Rewards number. If not, Atmos created one for you today, on October 1.
  • Blackout period over: The brief log-in freeze from September 26 to 30 has ended. You can once again redeem, transfer, or buy miles — now called Atmos Rewards points.
  • Saved data: Stored payment methods didn’t make the move, so you’ll need to re-enter cards in your new profile. Thankfully, saved traveler details should have carried over.
  • Points never expire: Unlike HawaiianMiles, which had stricter timelines, Atmos Rewards points don’t expire.

What Happens to Your Pualani Status Under Atmos Rewards?

Hawaiians’ Pualani elite members didn’t lose their hard-earned status. Instead, their levels were converted to Atmos Rewards tiers:

  • Pualani Gold to Atmos Silver
  • Pualani Platinum (under 75K Elite Qualifying Miles) to Atmos Gold
  • Pualani Platinum (75K–99,999 EQMs) to Atmos Platinum
  • Pualani Platinum (100K+ EQMs) to Atmos Titanium

This change comes with a silver lining: Atmos elite tiers connect to the Oneworld alliance, giving you broader perks across global partners. Still, upgrade rules and some Hawaiian-specific benefits may feel a little different.

And remember that there’s the new Huaka‘i by Hawaiian offering special benefits for residents of Hawaii.

What About Hawaiian’s Credit and Debit Cards?

If you carry the Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard®, the Hawaiian Airlines® Business Mastercard®, or the Bankoh Hawaiian Airlines Visa® check card, you’re in luck. Nothing changes on your end for now. You’ll keep the same benefits, including a free checked bag on Hawaiian flights.

While we still expect HawaiianMiles cards to be phased out eventually, no official end date has been announced, and you can continue to use your Hawaiian card as usual.

The only difference? Your card now earns Atmos Rewards points instead of Hawaiian miles. New applicants will also be earning Atmos from day one.

Hot Tip:

If you hold both a former HawaiianMiles account and an Alaska Atmos Rewards account, check which Atmos number was assigned to you. Linking them early helped avoid issues, but if Atmos Rewards created a duplicate, you may need to call to merge accounts.

Final Thoughts

HawaiianMiles officially merging into Atmos Rewards marks the end of an era for Hawaiian loyalists, but the program’s future looks promising. With 1:1 mileage conversion, no point expiration, and elite recognition across Oneworld, most members should come out ahead.

Yes, it’ll take a moment to re-enter payment details and get used to a new number, but otherwise, the process was designed to be as seamless as possible. With Atmos Rewards now serving as the unifying loyalty program for both Alaska and Hawaiian, travelers gain access to a broader network and more flexible redemption opportunities.

For Hawaiian flyers, this is a significant shift that will undoubtedly require an adjustment period — but one that expands your travel possibilities far beyond the islands.
