Hilton Honors is making some notable changes to one of its most popular elite perks: room upgrades.

If you’ve ever hoped for a better room at check-in, Hilton is introducing new ways to make that process more transparent — and, for some members, much more predictable.

Here’s what you need to know.

Hilton Honors Adds Upgrade Options During Digital Check-In

Hilton Honors has rolled out Upgrade at Digital Check-In across its global portfolio.

Eligible Gold, Diamond, and Diamond Reserve elite members can now see available complimentary and paid upgrade options in the Hilton Honors app (iOS, Android) during digital check-in.

That means members no longer have to wait until they reach the front desk to see what might be available. The feature builds on Hilton’s automated pre-arrival upgrade program, which already processes complimentary upgrades for eligible elite members before a stay.

Eligible Hilton Members Can Secure Suite Upgrades at Booking

Hilton has also introduced Confirmable Upgrade Rewards (CUR), a new benefit for certain top-tier members. These rewards allow eligible members to confirm an upgraded room at booking, including up to a 1-bedroom suite, for stays of up to 7 nights.

Confirmable Upgrade Rewards can be used on eligible paid and award stays booked through Hilton’s direct channels, including Hilton.com, the Hilton Honors app, WeChat, and Hilton Reservations.

Hilton says the rewards are available at select participating properties that offer complimentary pre-arrival upgrades, including luxury brands such as Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR, NoMad, and Signia by Hilton.

Members can earn Confirmable Upgrade Rewards by reaching Diamond Reserve status, hitting the 120-night milestone reward, or receiving a transferred or gifted reward from another Hilton Honors member.
