Hilton Honors is quietly gearing up for another shakeup. After announcing several program updates last month — including the new Hilton Diamond Reserve tier — it appears Hilton is now launching an elite status tier even more exclusive, invitation-only level.

This new top-tier elite status could rival secret tiers at other major hotel brands, like Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt.

Here’s what we know so far.

A New, Ultra-Exclusive Tier Is Coming to Hilton Honors

Hotels have long kept a quiet layer of invite-only elite status for their highest-value guests — secret tiers that are rarely discussed publicly and come with very little confirmed detail.

Hilton Honors now seems ready to join that club with The Honors Society, a tier reportedly positioned above Diamond Reserve, which the hotel chain recently announced.

While Hilton isn’t publicly discussing details yet, internal communications shared with properties suggest this status will be reserved for a very small number of members. For context, Hilton counts roughly 235 million Honors members, with an estimated 1.25 to 1.37 million Diamond members and around 50,000 to 55,000 Diamond Reserve members worldwide.

If The Honors Society ends up targeting only the top 1% of Reserve members, we’re talking about a group that could number just a few hundred to a few thousand travelers at most.

How Will This Impact Hilton Honors Members?

This change definitely shifts where Diamond fits in the lineup. With Hilton adding Diamond Reserve — a step above regular Diamond, which a lot of people already have thanks to the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card — Diamond is no longer going to be “top tier.”

From our perspective, Hilton Honors elite status levels Silver and Gold will remain at the bottom, Diamond will be in the middle, Diamond Reserve will be above that, and the new Honors Society tier is expected to be at the very top.

Hilton has stated that it won’t formally announce this new tier until sometime in the first quarter of 2026, so many details — including qualification criteria and benefits — remain undisclosed for now.

Hot Tip:

If Hilton follows patterns seen at other brands, The Honors Society will likely be invitation-only and not tied to published stay or spending thresholds. Don’t expect this to be an elite status tier that most members can chase.

Final Thoughts

Hilton’s move to add an invite-only tier makes one thing clear: the recently added Diamond Reserve is no longer the ceiling, and the new Honors Society will sit in a league of its own.

Most members won’t be able to attain this top-tier exclusive status — but its arrival could reshape how Hilton dishes out perks across every level. We’ll update this story next year as Hilton releases more details about what this new Honors Society status actually includes.
