IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxe Hotel Indigo brand, opening a new Bangkok hotel in 2026.

Let’s take a look at this exciting news!

IHG Making a Big Expansion in Thailand

Hotel Indigo The Forestias Bangkok will open in 2026 and feature 274 guest rooms. Its amenities will include a cafe, a lounge, a pool bar, a gym, and meeting spaces.

The hotel will be located just 15 minutes from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK).

Additionally, the Forestias project will house another IHG resort, the 85-room Six Senses The Forestias. This luxury hotel, which will also have branded residences, will open next year.

“The Hotel Indigo brand is growing in Thailand, and adds to IHG’s continued expansion in the luxury and lifestyle space,” said Saowarin Chanprakaisi, IHG’s Senior Director, Development, South East Asia & Korea. “Hotel Indigo properties provide a gateway to some of the world’s most inspiring and culturally rich neighborhoods while capturing the very spirit of their communities. Hotel Indigo The Forestias Bangkok will have a strong appeal to travelers searching for an authentic hotel experience that is strongly rooted in its community and environment.”

Hot Tip:

This is the second Hotel Indigo-branded hotel announced for Bangkok this year. We reported earlier this year that the 250-room Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor will also open in 2026. That hotel will have 2 restaurants, a pool, co-working spaces, and more.

Booking IHG Hotels in Thailand

Even though Hotel Indigo The Forestias Bangkok won’t open for a few years, there are plenty of IHG One Rewards hotels in Thailand to book.

In fact, some of the best ways to redeem IHG points are at hotels in Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia. That’s because points (and cash) rates in the region are incredibly low, even at luxury resorts!

Some of our favorite hotels in the country include the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok (starts at $216 or 35,000 points per night this fall) and the InterContinental Koh Samui Resort (starts at $262 or 43,000 points this fall.)

IHG One Rewards points are pretty easy to earn. The chain offers 3 co-branded IHG credit cards which are issued by Chase. Additionally, if you have Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points, you can transfer them to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

IHG has been on a roll lately with signings for high-end hotels in Thailand, and this is yet another example of the brand’s commitment. IHG has a whopping 3 dozen hotels in the Thailand pipeline, and we look forward to seeing more hotels open in the near future!
