Hilton has signed a deal for its second Curio Collection hotel in Australia, scheduled to open at the end of the year.

Here’s what to know about this upcoming Curio property!

Hotel Melbourne To Have 250+ Rooms

Next Hotel Melbourne, Curio Collection by Hilton is the flagship property for Vista Hospitality Group, which has a portfolio of mid-market and luxury brands, such as IHG’s voco and Hotel Indigo.

Next Hotel Melbourne will have 255 rooms and is a conversion of an existing hotel to the Hilton brand. While little is known about the hotel, the on-site restaurant and bar La Madonna has received Chef’s Hat accolades.

Hilton says the hotel will open by the end of 2023, though it didn’t say precisely when.

“This signing is testament to our belief in ensuring we have a variety of brands in our key destinations that suit the divergent needs of today’s travelers and showcases our commitment to growing our portfolio of hotels in Australasia,” said Guy Phillips, senior vice president for APAC development at Hilton.

Bottom Line:

This marks Hilton’s second Curio Collection by Hilton property in Australia, after the West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton.

How to Book the Hotel Melbourne With Points

Next Hotel Melbourne, Curio Collection by Hilton is expected to participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, so you will be able to earn and redeem points once it’s open. Unfortunately, while Hilton has signed a deal for the property, there isn’t a way to book dates right now due to the hotel not appearing on Hilton’s website.

But if you’re planning a stay in Melbourne before the end of the year, you have a few options for Hilton Honors stays in Australia’s second-largest city.

Hilton currently has 2 branded hotels in Melbourne: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Melbourne – Flinders Street and Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street. Both hotels are reasonably priced for the city, with the former starting at 33,000 Hilton Honors points per night and the latter starting at 41,000 points per night.

Similar to other rewards programs, Hilton Honors doesn’t use an award chart. Instead, the hotel chain uses variable pricing, which means your stay could be cheaper (or pricer) depending on your dates.

That said, earning Hilton Honors points is a breeze, even if you’re not a loyalist. The hotel offers several co-branded credit cards with massive welcome bonus offers and some form of elite status. To quickly earn points, you can transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine with Hilton Honors Dining.

Bottom Line

This is exciting news from Hilton, which is opening another high-end hotel in Melbourne. While we’re waiting for more details from this Curio property, check out Hilton’s other hotels across Australia!
