It was yet another exciting week in the hotel industry. Several luxury hotels have opened in Prague, China, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Other luxury resorts are set for Australia, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas.

There’s a lot to cover from this week, so read on for our roundup of the most exciting hotel news you might have missed.

Hotel Openings

Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Halifax, Canada

Located on Halifax waterfront in Queen’s Marque, Muir, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Halifax, offers 109 guest rooms and suites. The Luxury Collection is one of Marriott’s signature brands, and it spared no expense here. Amenities include a restaurant serving Atlantic Canadian cuisine, a speakeasy, a wellness center, and even a private yacht and motorboat program.

Fairmont Golden Prague, Czech Republic

Fairmont Golden Prague has officially opened its doors to guests. The hotel, which underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation, offers 320 rooms, suites, and serviced residences. It also has 6 dining options, including an Asian restaurant and a rooftop bar. Guests can relax at a spacious spa and fitness center, plus enjoy access to an indoor and outdoor pool.

Alila Dong’ao Island Zhuhai, China

China is one of the best destinations for affordable World of Hyatt bookings, whether you pay with cash or use points. Alila Dong’ao Island Zhuhai is an all-suite clifftop resort located less than an hour from the city by ferry.

With 109 spacious suites (starting at 925 square feet), they are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, separate living rooms, double vanity bathrooms, and more. Many come with private balconies and tea rooms, and some feature private pools. Amenities include 3 restaurants and bars, a gym, 4 treatment rooms, sauna rooms, a hammam, a Himalayan salt room, and a vitality pool.

Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central, Sweden

The 300-room Hyatt Place Gothenburg Central is now open for guests. Amenities include a restaurant, a bar, a fitness center, flexible meeting spaces, including a 968-square-foot event space, and access to the city center. Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT) is 20 minutes away by public transportation, and the hotel is located directly above Central Station.

Radisson Resort Mui Ne, Vietnam

Radisson Resort Mui Ne has opened along the shores of Suoi Nuoc Beach in Binh Thuan, Vietnam. The resort has 126 rooms, including 12 beachfront villas and 8 garden villas, all of which feature private pools. The family-friendly resort offers amenities such as a kids’ club, pet-friendly facilities, wellness and spa services, and watersports.

Upcoming Hotels

The Vanguard Hotel, Autograph Collection, Michigan (May 2025)

Ann Arbor, Michigan, is getting a luxury hotel next month. The Vanguard Hotel, Autograph Collection, will open in early May with 188 guestrooms, including 24 one-bedroom suites between 600 and 900 square feet. The hotel will have 2 dining options, including a French-inspired brasserie, and 5 event rooms.

InterContinental Brisbane, Australia (June 2025)

The InterContinental Brisbane is set to open this June as a conversion of the former Hilton Brisbane. The hotel will open in June but will undergo a 2-year transformation. It will have 321 guest rooms, 4 restaurants, and bars, among other features.

Canopy by Hilton Milan Duomo, Italy (2025)

Hilton’s Canopy brand is coming to Italy. Canopy by Hilton Milan will open in Milan later this year and will have 96 guest rooms. The hotel will also have a restaurant, a lobby bar, a rooftop bar, two swimming pools, and a fitness center. 

Ritz-Carlton Reserve Eleuthera, Bahamas (2027)

The ultra-luxe Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand is coming to the Bahamas, with a resort planned for Eleuthera in 2027. According to One Mile at a Time, the resort will feature 110 guest rooms and suites, as well as 97 branded residences. Not much is known about the resort, but it will have several dining options, a spa, several pools, and an 18-hole golf course.

Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay, Turks & Caicos (2028)

Hilton Honors has inked a deal for Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay, which will become the brand’s debut on the island. The resort, accessible via a 25-minute boat transfer from Providenciales, will feature 62 guest rooms and suites. Some will have private terraces and plunge pools. Amenities will include 4 dining options, including the signature Peacock Alley, a spa spanning over 13,000 square feet, a fitness center, and pools for both adults and children.

The Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay is expected to open in 2028.

Evermore Orlando Resort Now Bookable With Free Nights

We reported earlier this year that Evermore, an Orlando resort popular with families traveling with large groups, could be booked with Hilton Honors points. At the time, it was only available with points. But now, according to Travel on Points, that has changed: The resort is now bookable with Hilton Free Night Certificates.

Ennismore Adds 6 All-Inclusive Resorts in the Americas

Some big news from Ennismore happened this week. The brand has announced 6 all-inclusive resorts across the Americas with over 1,600 rooms and 900 keys being added to the brand. Ennismore will refresh and rebrand resorts in Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel, and Cancun, which will become Rixos hotels. However, 3 hotels in Cancun, Acapulco, and Ixtapa will remain under Ennismore’s brand.

Final Thoughts

This was an exciting week for several major hotel brands, including Marriott, Accor, and Hyatt. New luxury hotels have opened in Nova Scotia, the Czech Republic, China, and more, while others are planned for the Caribbean, Italy, and Australia.
