This week in the hotel industry brought a couple of new openings in the U.S., a somewhat odd Marriott maneuver in a French overseas territory, new Hyatt properties coming to Germany and Japan, and more.

New Openings

Choice’s Cambria Hotels Expands Domestically

Cambria Hotels, one of Choice Hotels‘ upscale brands, has opened new properties in Texas and Oregon. Cambria Hotel Euless – DFW Airport South is located in the center of the massive Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and offers guests easy access to one of the world’s busiest airports.

The Cambria Hotel Bend – Mt. Bachelor is ideally situated for guests hoping to take advantage of the area’s wide array of outdoor activities but also offers proximity to downtown Bend and the Old Mill District. The property offers 131 guest rooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, and numerous outdoor gathering spaces.

Marriott Reflags Several Properties in New Caledonia

Marriott operates several properties in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory in the South Pacific. It has reflagged 3 existing properties to its Series brand, a select service collection that awards half the number of points on stays outside the U.S., Canada, and Greater China.

The former Le Meridien Noumea has become La Domaine Noumea, Series by Marriott; the Le Meridien Ile des Pins has become Le Domaine Oro, Series by Marriott; and the Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa has become Le Domaine Deva, Series by Marriott.

Award nights start at 39,000, 56,000, and 31,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, respectively.

New SLH in Mexico City

Casona Roma Norte isn’t a new hotel, but it’s just joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Set in a 1920s Belle Epoque mansion, there are 32 suites and 4 dining options.

The property will soon be available through Hilton Honors, thanks to its SLH partnership. It’s also available for 32,500 Hyatt points per night through its Mr & Mrs Smith partnership.

Upcoming Hotels

Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin

Hyatt will renovate the iconic Hotel Palace Berlin and reopen it as the Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin in 2027. It’s in the German capital’s City West district, near the Berlin Zoo, top attractions, and public transportation. It will offer 239 rooms and 39 suites, a club lounge, 2 bars, a pool, a spa, and the popular beef45 restaurant after the renovation is complete.

Hyatt Centric Sapporo

The upcoming Hyatt Centric Sapporo is accepting reservations for December 1, 2026, and beyond. This Category 3 World of Hyatt property is the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Hokkaido in northern Japan and will offer 216 rooms, including 9 suites. Along with incredible skyline views over the city, guests will enjoy the on-site restaurant, bar, and fitness center.

Award nights range from a low of 8,000 to a high of 20,000 World of Hyatt points per night.

Cantonal Hotel Riyadh Noted Collection by IHG

IHG is again expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia with the debut of the Noted Collection in the Kingdom — and the wider Middle East — by the end of 2026. Cantonal Hotel Riyadh Noted Collection by IHG is in the Al Olaya district, giving it close proximity to the business center of the Saudi capital. The hotel will offer 107 guest rooms, a restaurant, a cafe, a rooftop lounge, an indoor pool, and more.

Hyatt’s Major Departure

The Chatwal, Unbound Collection by Hyatt — a Category 8 property — will leave Hyatt on September 29, 2026, and will join Minor Hotels and the GHA Discovery program early next year. Hyatt has contacted guests with stays booked for after that date with options for relocation, which include The Manner, Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Andaz 5th Avenue, and Park Hyatt New York.
