Hotel News

Ambassador Chicago Leaving World of Hyatt

One of the best sweet spots for World of Hyatt members in Chicago, Ambassador Chicago, a member of Jdv by Hyatt, is leaaving the program.

The hotel was a Category 4 property, meaning award rates ranged between 12,000 and 18,000 points per night. Most importantly, the hotel could be booked using the lucrative Hyatt Category 1-4 free night certificate. These certificates are earned by staying at 5 different Hyatt brands, holding a personal Hyatt credit card, or having 30 qualifying nights in a calendar year.

But now, that sweet spot is coming to an end. A note on the hotel’s website reads: “Effective March 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time, Ambassador Chicago will transition to an independent hotel outside of the Hyatt portfolio and is expected to honor all paid reservations including those for stays March 17, 2025 and beyond.”

The hotel says guests with stays after that date should contact Hyatt’s Global Care Centers at 888-848-9496 for U.S. guests or 1-402-952-1131 for international guests.
