September ended on a strong note in the hotel industry, with several luxury hotels opening in Thailand, Japan, and Texas. Additionally, a handful of hotels were announced in exciting destinations, including Germany, Mongolia, and the United Kingdom.

Hotel Openings

KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton, Thailand

Located in Bangkok’s bustling Sukhumvit district, KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton, has opened with 306 guest rooms and suites. This is Curio Collection’s debut in Thailand, part of the brand’s growing presence in Southeast Asia.

Amenities include 3 restaurants, including a French-inspired bistro and bar, a 24-hour fitness center, and a rooftop pool. Guests will enjoy a central location near shopping and dining, as well as 2 Skytrain stations, Phrom Phong and Asok.

ANA Holiday Inn Resort Karuizawa, Japan

ANA Holiday Inn Resort Karuizawa has opened at the base of Mount Asama in the central Honshū region.

The resort offers 102 guestrooms and suites, in various configurations, including kids suites, family suites, and even a dog-friendly cottage room. The all-season resort offers a range of amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, natural hot springs, a pool, a kids’ room, a gym, and a full-service restaurant

Fairmount Hotel, Texas

San Antonio’s historic Fairmount Hotel has officially joined Hyatt’s Unbound Collection.

The boutique hotel, built in 1906, offers 37 guest rooms, along with amenities like a rooftop bar, 3 dining options, including a steakhouse, a rooftop restaurant, and a fitness center

The Elmore Hotel, DFW Southlake, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Texas

Not to be outdone, Marriott also recently opened a new hotel in the Lone Star State. The Elmore Hotel, DFW Southlake, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, features 175 guest rooms and suites. Amenities include a restaurant, a speakeasy, 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a pool, and a fitness center.

The hotel is just 5 miles from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), offering easy connections whether you’re coming to town or leaving.

Hyatt Regency Xi’an Chanba, China

Hyatt Regency Xi’an Chanba has opened in northeast Xi’an, the capital of China’s Shaanxi province. The hotel features 310 guest rooms and suites, many of which offer river views. Amenities include several dining options, an all-day fitness center, and an indoor pool.

The hotel also features the Regency Club, which offers select guests complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening cocktails, and more.

Crowne Plaza Alexandria Mirage Hotel, Egypt

Crowne Plaza Alexandria Mirage Hotel features 96 guest rooms and suites in Egypt’s coastal city. Amenities include 2 restaurants and several meeting spaces.

Rare for a Crowne Plaza, the hotel also features a full wellness center with an outdoor pool, a fitness studio, steam and sauna rooms, and massage treatment areas.

The hotel is doing things a little differently than most. Instead of a traditional lobby, Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho has a “Talk Shop,” an all-day casual hangout space where you can order coffee or a cocktail. Other amenities include a restaurant and a fitness center.

Upcoming Hotels

Hotel Schloss Reinhartshausen, Vignette Collection, Germany 

IHG agreed to manage Hotel Schloss Reinhartshausen in Germany. The hotel will become a Vignette Collection, making it the brand’s third in Germany, following Bristol Berlin and Alte Post in Reit im Winkl.

Hotel Schloss Reinhartshausen, Vignette Collection, has 53 guest rooms and suites, 3 restaurants and bars, 9 meeting rooms, and a wellness area.

Hampton by Hilton Manchester City Centre, United Kingdom (2026)

Hilton this week announced 2 new hotels coming to Manchester, England, next year. Hampton by Hilton Manchester City Centre will become the brand’s largest in Europe. The hotel will feature 358 rooms, a fitness center, meeting spaces, and dining facilities, as well as complimentary hot breakfast (including the famous Hampton Waffle). The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2026.

Motto by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly, United Kingdom (2027)

Joining Hampton by Hilton Manchester City Centre, Motto by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly will offer 154 guest rooms. Amenities will include a restaurant, a bar, and a fitness center.

Motto by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly is set to open to guests in 2027.

AC Hotels by Marriott Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2027)

Marriott is set to make its debut in Mongolia in 2027, with the opening of AC Hotels by Marriott Ulaanbaatar. 

The hotel will offer 190 guest rooms and suites. Amenities will include 2 restaurants, a grab-and-go station, a lounge and bar, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, and the brand’s signature AC Library. 

Sofitel Genoa Waterfront, Italy (2027)

Sofitel Genoa Waterfront, scheduled to open in 2027, will feature 120 guest rooms, including 20 suites. When it opens, the hotel will feature a restaurant, a lobby lounge bar, a pool bar, a spa, a gym, a swimming pool, and meeting rooms.

Series by Marriott Brand Coming to the U.S.

Marriott will convert several FOUND Hotels in the U.S. to the Series by Marriott in Miami, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Chicago, and San Diego. 

Here are the hotels that will join the Series by Marriott portfolio over the next year:

If you aren’t familiar, Series by Marriott was initially created in India to bring “strong, regionally relevant brands and hotels” into the Marriott portfolio. The hotels that will join the brand will be midscale and upscale.

Hilton Inks Deals for 3 New Hotels in Italy

Hilton will bring 3 Curio Collection hotels to Italy in the coming years, with signings for properties in Genova, Sorrento, and Milan.

Here’s a look at each hotel:

  • Grand Hotel Savoia Genova, Curio Collection by Hilton (February 2026): This hotel will have 117 guest rooms. Amenities will include a restaurant, a lobby bar, a rooftop lounge, a spa, and a gym. Rates start at $174 or 51,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
  • Majestic Palace Sorrento, Curio Collection by Hilton (2027): This hotel features a Michelin-starred restaurant and bar. All 75 guest rooms will feature private balconies, and amenities will include a swimming pool and a private garden.
  • Cadorna Hotel Milan, Curio Collection by Hilton (2028): The hotel will feature 120+ guest rooms, as well as amenities such as a gym, bar, and restaurant.

Final Thoughts

The final week of September saw the opening of several exciting hotels, including a Curio Collection property in Bangkok and boutique hotels in Texas. Other projects also caught our eye, including Hilton’s plans to open new luxury hotels in Italy and a historic hotel in Germany joining IHG’s Vignette Collection.
