Hot Tip:

As great as this sounds, don’t believe everything you read on the internet, especially on April 1.

In a surprise move, Hyatt has rolled out a new booking feature that is sure to make World of Hyatt fans happy — Mattress Run!

If you’re on a quest to achieve top-tier Globalist elite status in the World of Hyatt program but don’t actually want to stay at a Hyatt property, you now have another option to do so.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Hyatt Mattress Run

We are big fans of World of Hyatt Gloalist status, but actually staying 60 nights to qualify for this coveted tier of status can be a stretch for some travelers.

To help with that pain point, Hyatt is rolling out the option to select “Mattress Run” when booking a room at select Las Vegas properties.

“We are excited to be the first hotel company to introduce this highly-requested feature. Now guests can pay for a room and receive an elite night credit without leaving the comfort of their own home.”

Somebody at Hyatt, probably

By selecting the “Mattress Run” option during booking, hotels will know to automatically process online check-in and checkouts without the need for guests to mess up the bed and cause unnecessary housekeeping costs.

This will also allow hotels to forecast occupancy and staffing levels more accurately.

Final Thoughts

Sadly, it’s April Fools’ Day. As much as we’d love this to be true, it’s not — sorry if we got your hopes up.

Unfortunately, if you want to earn those valuable elite night credits, you will have to continue to do it the old-fashioned way — staying at Hyatt properties or spending on a co-branded credit card!
