The 315-room Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica, located just steps from the iconic Santa Monica Pier, will rebrand as a Hyatt Centric property in September 2024.

Here’s everything you should know about the scheduled transition, giving Hyatt loyalists another great Los Angeles hotel to choose from.

Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica To Become Hyatt Centric

According to owner Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica, a luxurious boutique hotel in a prime location just a few blocks from downtown Santa Monica’s vibrant shops, entertainment, and dining scene, is set to be rebranded and converted to a Hyatt Centric, becoming the first Hyatt hotel in Santa Monica.

The conversion and rebranding of this new Hyatt property is anticipated to cost $16 million and will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and end in the second quarter of 2025.

“We are thrilled that our lifestyle-oriented Delfina Santa Monica hotel will become part of Hyatt Centric,” said Mr. Jon E. Bortz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. “After evaluating many alternative options, we determined that converting to Hyatt Centric was the optimal choice for this unique lifestyle-oriented property. We were already planning a refresh, and the additional scope to meet Hyatt Centric standards was relatively minor. This will be the only Hyatt-branded hotel in the desirable and high barrier-to-entry beachside Santa Monica hotel market, which should be a tremendous benefit for the property.”

Booking the Hyatt Centric Santa Monica

The rebranded Hyatt Centric Santa Monica will be part of the World of Hyatt program, which will allow guests to redeem Hyatt points to book a stay. However, as of the time of writing, reservations aren’t available yet.

Rest assured, there are multiple ways to earn World of Hyatt points if you’re interested in staying here in the future, even if your balance is currently lacking. Hyatt provides a range of co-branded credit cards, each offering generous welcome bonuses. In addition, members have the option to transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards, as well as book a rental car with Avis.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt’s portfolio is set to expand with the upcoming arrival of Hyatt Centric Santa Monica in mid-September 2024. After the $16 million renovation of the former Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica is completed, World of Hyatt loyalists will have an incredibly convenient hotel option for their next trip to Santa Monica.
