The 315-room Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica, located just steps from the iconic Santa Monica Pier, has completed its rebranding as a Hyatt Centric property, and it’s now open for guests.

Here’s everything you should know about the scheduled transition, giving Hyatt loyalists another great Los Angeles hotel to choose from.

Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica Becomes Hyatt Centric

First disclosed by owner Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, the Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica — a luxurious boutique hotel in a prime location just a few blocks from downtown Santa Monica’s vibrant shops, entertainment, and dining scene — has now rebranded and converted to a Hyatt Centric, becoming the first Hyatt hotel in Santa Monica. The intended change was announced earlier this year.

The conversion and rebranding of this new Hyatt property is anticipated to cost $16 million and will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and end in the second quarter of 2025. The hotel is open during the renovations, including “a carefully phased approach so as to not disrupt operations during the improvements,” according to a press release from Hyatt.

Renovations will include the hotel’s 315 guest rooms, an overhaul of food and beverage offerings, and updates to the 15,000 square feet of meeting spaces — including the 4,500-square-foot rooftop ballroom with panoramic views. Updates will also include the lobby, arrivals area, fitness center, and pool.

“As the first Hyatt hotel in Santa Monica, this lifestyle property not only celebrates the area’s vibrant culture but also offers our guests an opportunity to explore one of Los Angeles’ most iconic coastal destinations. True to the Hyatt Centric brand, the hotel is excited to welcome visitors to a space that creates connection and inspires discovery.”

Mike Waddell, senior vice president global franchise operations at Hyatt

Booking the Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica

The rebranded Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica is part of the World of Hyatt program, allowing guests to redeem Hyatt points to book a stay. As a Category 6 property, you’ll pay as little as 21,000 points per night on off-peak dates or as much as 29,000 points on peak dates.

Rest assured, there are multiple ways to earn World of Hyatt points if you’re interested in staying, even if your balance is currently lacking. Hyatt provides a range of co-branded credit cards, each offering generous welcome bonuses. In addition, members have the option to transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards, as well as book a rental car with Avis.

If you’re paying cash, we found rates during fall and early winter for $329 per night, though $350 is more typical.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt’s portfolio is expanding with the arrival of Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica. After the $16 million renovation of the former Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica is completed, World of Hyatt loyalists will have an incredibly convenient hotel option for their next trip to Santa Monica. The hotel is open for guests on a phased approach during renovations.
