Hyatt has inked a deal for a new hotel in Tokyo, scheduled to open later this year.
Here’s what you need to know!
Hyatt Plans Japan’s Second Unbound Collection Property
Hotel Toranomon Hills, part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, will open in Tokyo at the end of 2023. This new hotel will be Japan’s second Unbound Collection property, joining the Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoka.
Hyatt’s Unbound Collection consists of independent hotels focusing on unique experiences for travelers, with properties in 35 cities globally. Additional projects in the pipeline include hotels across Asia, where Hyatt is trying to boost its presence.
Hotel Toranomon Hills will feature 205 rooms, measuring between 290 and 367 square feet.
The hotel will be part of the new Toranomon Hills Station Tower complex, occupying the building’s first floor and floors 11 through 14. Guests will have seamless public transit options, as the tower is connected to Tokyo Metro’s Hibiya subway line.
Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND) is just a 20-minute drive or 45 minutes by subway. The building boasts a rooftop garden and swimming pool.
Other amenities include a 2-story lounge, with co-working stations, meeting rooms, and complimentary refreshments for guests. Shower facilities will be available for travelers arriving or departing Tokyo before check-in or checkout.
Dining options include a “fine-casual” restaurant featuring European cuisine, a café, and a first-floor bar.
“We are thrilled for these plans to debut The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand to Tokyo with Hotel Toranomon Hills as part of the landmark Toranomon Hills Station Tower, which will be a cosmopolitan focal point within Tokyo’s newest and innovative business hub for international citizens,” said Sam Sakamura, Hyatt’s vice president of Japan and Micronesia, in a statement.
It’s unclear at this time which World of Hyatt category Hotel Toranomon Hills will fall under. Currently, Hyatt properties in Tokyo range from Category 4 to Category 7.
This isn’t the only Hyatt hotel in Tokyo’s Toranomon Hills business district — the Category 7 Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills opened back in 2014. Hyatt has 9 branded properties in and around Tokyo, including 1 of the chain’s best hotels: the Park Hyatt Tokyo.
Hotel Toranomon Hills is scheduled to open for guests in late 2023. Hyatt already has a sizable presence in Tokyo, but the opening of an Unbound Collection property gives travelers yet another high-end option in Japan’s capital. While we’re still learning about the hotel, including the award category it will fall under, check out ways to earn World of Hyatt points for a stay at Hotel Toranomon Hills or another Hyatt property!
