Hyatt is expanding its presence in Australia with plans to open an Andaz hotel on the Gold Coast next year.

Let’s take a look!

Luxury Brand Andaz’s Debut in Australia

The Andaz Gold Coast will be located in the $1.3 billion Star Gold Coast development. Occupying 15 floors of a 65-story tower, the property will have 202 guest rooms and suites. The Star Gold Coast development is located on Broadbeach Island, and the hotel will have access to beaches, shopping, and dining.

Amenities will include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, 3 dining options, and the signature Andaz Lounge.

Hyatt says the hotel will open for guests in mid-2025 and will be the first Andaz in Australia. The hotel chain noted that the Gold Coast is a “world-renowned region,” seeing 4 million Australians visiting the region in 2023.

“Hyatt has had a brand presence in Australia for over 40 years, and we are excited to expand our luxury, lifestyle and leisure offerings into sought-after destinations like the Gold Coast,” said David Udell, Asia Pacific group president. “This resort will complement our current portfolio of 10 hotels under five distinct brands in Australia, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place.”

Booking Hyatt Hotels in Australia

Unfortunately, the Andaz Gold Coast won’t open until next year. And since Hyatt hasn’t set up a landing page for the new hotel, so we don’t know how much rooms will cost.

While we wait, this is a great time to check out Hyatt’s other hotels in Australia. They include some of the best hotels in Australia, like the Category 8 Park Hyatt Sydney. One of the most exclusive hotels in Hyatt’s portfolio, rates here range from 35,000 to 45,000 points per night.

World of Hyatt points are some of the most difficult hotel points to earn but are among the most valuable, at 1.5 cents each. If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards, you can transfer points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, you can earn points through welcome bonuses and daily spending on Hyatt’s co-branded cards.

Final Thoughts

Andaz is a premier brand, and its hotels are located in hot-spot cities such as New York, London, and Singapore. Therefore, it makes sense for Hyatt to open a property on the Gold Coast, a prime travel destination for Australians and international tourists alike. While we await the Andaz Gold Coast’s opening, check out Hyatt’s other hotels across Australia and New Zealand. Or save your points for a special stay at this new property when it opens.
