An Upgraded Points exclusive: a new Hyatt resort is opening in Punta Cana, and it’s accepting reservations. Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana will officially open for guests on July 1, 2025 — and we’ve got the full scoop.

Here’s what you need to know.

New Hyatt Resort Opening in Punta Cana

Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana has just 66 guest rooms, each with a view of the garden or the pool.

Hyatt hasn’t officially announced the resort, so not much is known about it at this point. What we do know, however, is that it’s located in the El Cortecito neighborhood of Punta Cana and is a short distance from Los Corales Beach. The full-service hotel features a restaurant, a lobby bar, and a pool with a bar. Other amenities include a concierge, a fitness center, a spa, 2 meeting spaces, and pet-friendly accommodations.

This resort will fall under the JdV by Hyatt brand. If you’re unfamiliar, JdV is a collection of vibrant boutique hotels with unique designs, which World of Hyatt acquired in 2018. It will be the first JdV by Hyatt hotel in the Caribbean.

It’s worth noting that this resort doesn’t appear to be all-inclusive, as it doesn’t fall under Hyatt’s all-inclusive award chart.

Hyatt has no shortage of resorts in the Punta Cana area, including the Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana and the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. These resorts come with hefty price tags in cash or World of Hyatt points. Still, Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana is a solid option if you’re looking for a budget stay with a high-end brand, thanks to relatively cheap room rates.

Booking Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana

Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana officially opens on July 1, 2025; however, you can book stays now.

This is one of the most affordable hotels in Punta Cana, especially for a well-established brand like Hyatt. Cash rates start at just $114 per night, which is a fantastic deal.

But the true steal here is with World of Hyatt points. Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana is a Category 3 World of Hyatt property. This means award nights start at 9,000 points per night (off-peak) and can cost up to 15,000 points per night on peak dates.

There appears to be a ton of off-peak availability, too, which makes this one of the best sweet spots for Hyatt awards in the region.

If you’re running low on World of Hyatt points, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards at a ratio of 1:1.

Hot Tip:

You can also use a Category 1-4 free night certificate to stay at Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana. You can earn these by participating in the Brand Explorer program, staying 30 qualifying nights or earning 50,000 base points, or having a Hyatt credit card.

Final Thoughts

Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana is a very exciting opening, thanks in large part to the resort’s affordability with cash or points: it isn’t every day that we see Caribbean resorts costing just 9,000 points per night. Although the resort doesn’t appear to be all-inclusive, it still offers all the amenities you’d expect at a resort, including a spa and pool.

We can’t wait to check it out when it’s open!
