Good news, Hyatt fans: You can finally apply Suite Upgrade Awards and Club Access Awards online. Previously, you could only apply these to a stay by contacting World of Hyatt customer support.

These certificates are given to World of Hyatt members when they reach certain Milestone Rewards after staying a certain number of nights (or earning a certain number of base points) over the course of a year. Milestone Rewards vary depending on the threshold you reach, and rewards range from bonus points on upcoming stays to free night certificates.

Here’s a look at how to apply your Hyatt Suite Upgrade and Club Access Awards online.

Using Hyatt Suite Upgrade and Club Access Access Awards Online

Applying a Hyatt Suite Upgrade or Club Access Award to a new booking is simple. You can apply certificates if you’re paying cash for a stay or redeeming World of Hyatt points.

To do this, use Hyatt’s website or mobile app to find a hotel you’d like to book and click the “View Rates” button. Next, you’ll choose your room and rate. Your available awards are shown underneath the hotel’s photo at the top of the screen.

Then, select the award you’d like to add to your stay and continue through the booking process as usual. That’s all there is to it.

Hyatt’s website will only let you apply Suite Upgrade Award when a confirmable suite is available during your stay. Likewise, it will only let you add a Club Access Award if the property has an open club lounge and if your room doesn’t already include club access. Awards that can’t be applied to your stay will be grayed out.

Right now, you can only apply Suite Upgrade and Club Access Awards online to new bookings. You’ll still have to call in to add them to existing bookings.

What Are Suite Upgrade and Club Access Awards?

As mentioned, you earn Suite Upgrade Awards and Club Access Awards as Milestone Rewards when you stay at Hyatt hotels throughout the year.

Suite Upgrade Awards are the more valuable of the 2 awards. These let you confirm an upgrade from a standard room to a suite before you check in to your hotel — rather than hoping for an upgrade based on availability at check-in. Each Suite Upgrade Award is valid for a single stay of up to seven nights.

Meanwhile, Club Access Awards let World of Hyatt members confirm club lounge access at the time of booking. Note that these awards aren’t useful for top-tier Globalist elites since they have club access included as a guaranteed perk on every stay.

Hot Tip:

World of Hyatt elites can transfer Suite Upgrade Awards, Club Access Awards, and other Hyatt certificates to other members. Just find the award in your account and click the “Gift Your Award” button to the right of the award you’d like to gift.

Final Thoughts

This is great news for Hyatt loyalists. Being able to apply Suite Upgrade and Club Access awards online is a big time saver since you had to call in to apply the award to your upcoming stay before this change. Now, it takes just seconds to add an award to your stay using Hyatt’s website or mobile app — all at the time of booking.
