Fans of the swanky Andaz brand will soon have another option in Mexico City later this year.
Here’s what you need to know.
Andaz Condesa Mexico City To Open in Late 2022
Hyatt has announced that it has entered into a management agreement with Grupo Murano for the Andaz Condesa Mexico City.
The property will have 213 rooms and 20 suites, a fitness center, spa, event facilities, and 4 restaurants.
Hyatt says the Andaz Condesa Mexico City will offer one of the tallest rooftop pools in Mexico City with views of the city’s historic landmarks.
“Andaz Condesa Mexico City will mark the Andaz brand’s entry into the influential and historic capital city, and as the demand in leisure travel continues to rise, we look forward to introducing a new luxury lifestyle offering to guests, World of Hyatt members and customers,” said Camilo Bolaños, senior vice president of development and real estate in a statement.
The new hotel will become the first Andaz in Mexico City and the second in the country after the Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya. Mexico City has 3 Hyatt properties, including a Hyatt Regency.
We don’t know how many World of Hyatt points will be needed for an award night just yet. Other Hyatt properties in the city range from Category 1 (Hyatt House Mexico City/Santa Fe) to Category 5 (Brick Hotel).
Hyatt Expands Throughout Mexico and Latin America
Hyatt is rapidly expanding throughout Mexico, with plans to open the following properties:
NUMU in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (late summer 2022)
Park Hyatt Los Cabos Hotel and Residences (spring 2023)
Thompson Monterrey (summer 2023)
Park Hyatt Mexico City (2024)
The brand is also growing across Latin America. The Hotel La Compañía is the first hotel to open within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt portfolio in Panama. And Hyatt also announced the opening of the Hyatt Centric San Salvador in El Salvador this year.
Andaz is one of the most beloved Hyatt brands, emphasizing luxury lifestyle hotels rooted in local art and culture. So it makes sense that Hyatt would put this new Andaz in the heart of Condesa, one of the most popular neighborhoods in Mexico City, and close to other luxury hotels, including the Four Seasons and St. Regis. While it’s unclear how many points you’ll need when it opens later this year, you might want to start building your Hyatt balance if you’re going to book a room.
