We love easy ways to earn points, so we wanted to share this new promotion from Hyatt Vacation Club. For just 90 minutes of your time, you’ll be able to earn up to 15,000 Hyatt points or a $150 Hyatt gift card.

Here are the details.

Hyatt Vacation Club Offer: 15k Points or $150 Gift Card

Regardless of what you think about timeshares, this offer could be worth your time. In exchange for participation in a 90-minute Hyatt Vacation Club timeshare presentation, you can get up to 15,000 World of Hyatt points or a $150 Hyatt gift card.

Of course, there’s fine print that you’ll want to pay attention to.

First, if you are married, living with someone, or in a life partnership, both people must attend the presentation, and “both must be active participants in the program overview and sales presentation for the full 90 minutes.” according to Hyatt Vacation Club.

All participants must have audio and video activated during the presentation, and you must be using a computer or tablet in a private location (no listening in while at Starbucks.)

This incentive only applies to people living in (and participating in) the following states:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • North Dakota
  • Pennsylvania
  • Vermont
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming

Participants must also have an annual income over $100,000, although it’s unclear how this requirement would be verified.

If all criteria are met, participants will be awarded the following incentives.

  • Individual participant: $75 Hyatt gift card or 7,500 Hyatt points
  • Couple: $150 Hyatt gift card or 15,000 Hyatt points
  • Link to Offer

Additionally, you won’t be eligible for this promotion if you have taken a virtual sales presentation within the last 6 months, if you have a Hyatt Vacation ownership contract pending or on hold, if you had a contract with a sponsor or any affiliate canceled in past 90 days, if you’re an owner with delinquent maintenance fees or are in foreclosure, or if you’ve purchased a Hyatt Vacation Club timeshare within the last 90 days.

Bottom Line:

With this new promotion, you can pick up 7,500 to 15,000 Hyatt points by participating in a 90-minute timeshare presentation. If that doesn’t appeal to you, rest assured there are plenty of other great ways to earn Hyatt points.

Are Timeshare Presentations Worth It?

If you’re someone who wouldn’t be able to say no to a timeshare offer, it’s probably best to skip the presentation.

However, if you are confident in your ability to take the points or gift card and walk away without signing up for anything, it could be worth your time.

We value Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each. So, 7,500 points are worth ~$112.50. That works out to $75 per hour. If you value your time at more than $75 per hour, this deal probably isn’t worth it for you. But it could be worth participating if $75 per hour sounds good (and you value Hyatt points.)

If you decide to participate, the value of the points offered is greater than the gift card amount, so we’d recommend taking the points.

Hot Tip:

One of our travel editors, Jessica Merrit, attended a timeshare presentation for Hilton Grand Vacations for a $200 certificate at select Hilton properties. Read about Jessica’s experience attending a timeshare presentation and whether it was worth her time.

Final Thoughts

This Hyatt Vacation Club promotion is limited geographically and has some strict requirements, so it won’t appeal to everyone.

However, if you meet the criteria, have an extra 90 minutes of time, and have a strong will to say no to a timeshare presentation, this could be a good opportunity to pick up 7,500 or 15,000 Hyatt points.
