Icelandair is expanding in the United States yet again — next year, the airline will begin service to Nashville (BNA).

Here’s what you need to know about this exciting new route.

Seasonal Service Begins in May 2025

Icelandair will begin 4x nonstop weekly service between Reykjavík (KEF) and Nashville (BNA) next May.

Flights to and from Music City will begin on May 16, 2025, and will continue throughout October. Icelandair will fly its Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets on the route.

“We are very pleased to add Nashville to our extensive network in North America, linking Music City to our 34 destinations in Europe,” said Bogi Nils Bogason, Icelandair president and CEO. “We know travelers from the Southeast will greatly benefit from this new service and offer Tennesseans the best options to Iceland and beyond.”

Nashville becomes Icelandair’s 18th North American destination. The route will give passengers at the airport more options to connect beyond Reykjavík, as Icelandair flies to a handful of popular European destinations like Barcelona (BCN), Dublin (DUB), and the Faroe Islands (FAE).

The Nashville route is not the only news from the Reykjavík-based airline today. Icelandair announced a bilateral partnership with Southwest Airlines. The partnership will allow customers to seamlessly connect between the 2 airlines.

Hot Tip:

Iceland is often used as a jump-off point for other European destinations, thanks to the Icelandair Stopover program. If you’re short on time, check out our guide about what to do in Iceland in 48 hours!

How To Book

Flights are available on Icelandair.com and start at around $550 round-trip from Nashville. As Icelandair unbundles its tickets, this is merely the cheapest fare. When booking Economy Light, the cheapest fare class, you’ll pay extra for checked bags and other ancillary purchases like meals or seat selection.

Once you’ve selected your travel dates, make sure to pay with a credit card that rewards you for travel purchases.

Our favorites at Upgraded Points include some of the best travel cards out there, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. Aside from the generous welcome bonuses, all 3 cards include benefits such as lounge access, statement credits for travel, and more!

Final Thoughts

Icelandair will begin flights to Nashville beginning next May, which will come just before the start of peak season in Iceland. This will give travelers in the city more cheap options to fly to Iceland and beyond. Even better, flights are reasonably priced for Nashville, starting at just $548 round-trip!

The information regarding the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
