IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to make its mark as a serious competitor in the hotel world with the announcement of 5 new hotels across 5 different cities in Türkiye.

If you’re an IHG loyalist who just happens to have Türkiye on their travel list, you’ll have plenty of places to spend those points. Here’s what’s coming from IHG starting as early as 2024.

New IHG Hotels in Türkiye

These new hotels will be from the Essentials, Premium, and Luxury & Lifestyle tiers of IHG Hotels & Resorts and are part of IHG’s continued growth strategy in the country (Holiday Inn Resort Bodrum opened in the summer of 2023.)

The first half of 2024 will see 2 new Crowne Plaza hotels: Crowne Plaza Kayseri and Crowne Plaza Yalova. Located near Erciyes Mountain, Türkiye’s most famous ski resort, and Kayseri’s city center, Crowne Plaza Kayseri will have 186 guestrooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a fitness center. Crowne Plaza Yalova will have 106 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar as well as meeting space and a ballroom.

The only IHG Hotels & Resorts brand that won’t be new to Türkiye in the recent announcement will be InterContinental. The luxury brand will add another hotel, InterContinental Bursa, to its collection, which already includes InterContinental Istanbul and InterContinental Grand Ankara. The latter was signed in 2021 and is scheduled to open in 2024. The all-new InterContintal Bursa will open in early 2025 and be the largest hotel in the UNESCO World Heritage City.

In late 2025, Holiday Inn Express Istanbul Arnavutkoy will open its doors with just 64 guest rooms. Conveniently located near Istanbul International Airport (IST). Guests can look forward to a restaurant, a bar, and a terrace as part of the amenities offered at this hotel.

And finally, Holiday Inn Mersin will mark the first IHG hotel in Mersin, Türkiye, and is expected to open in late 2026. It will be close to the city center and public transport to the seaside, making it an ideal hotel for business travelers. There will be 95 guest rooms.

Bottom Line:

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced its plans for 5 new hotels across 5 cities in Türkiye. The hotels are expected to open between early 2024 and late 2026.

Final Thoughts

IHG has been on quite the roll, signing dozens of hotels to its portfolio in 2023. It’s clear that it intends to compete with larger hotel brands for the business of travelers around the world.

These 5 new hotels, along with 9 more in the pipeline, illustrate IHG’s commitment to growth in Türkiye. IHG isn’t the only game in town — Hilton has announced aggressive growth plans for the country, too. This is great news for travelers who will see plenty of hotel openings over the next couple of years.
