IHG is back with a new promotion that puts the way you earn points on stays back in your hands.
Here’s what to know!
Earn 2k Points Every 2 Nights or 10k Points Every 4 Nights
This promotion is actually comprised of 2 separate offers, and you can only pick 1, so make sure you’re satisfied before you register. The option you choose will determine how you earn IHG points for the rest of the year.
For the first offer, you will earn 2,000 IHG One Rewards points every 2 nights you stay at an IHG property. The second offer will net you 10,000 points for every 4 nights you stay at an IHG property.
Both offers are good for stays through December 31, and there’s no limit on how many points you can earn. You can take a look at both offers and register using this link.
Either offer can make sense, depending on your travel habits. The 4-night offer comes out just slightly ahead because each night is worth 2,500 points per night versus the 1,000-point per night haul with the 2-night offer. But note that you must complete the entire stay, and you won’t get credit if you don’t.
Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you book, as the offer is only valid at IHG Hotels & Resorts, Mr & Mrs. Smith properties and participating Six Senses properties. The total spend must be $30 or more per night to qualify for the offer.
The higher your elite status, the more points you can earn. For instance, a top-tier Diamond Elite member who registers for the 2k points promo and spends $100 per night would earn a total of 6,000 IHG points. This is because IHG One Rewards members receive 2,000 base points. Additionally, Diamond Elite members earn 10x points per dollar spent for an elite bonus of 2,000 points. Finally, the promotional bonus is 2,000 points, bringing the example of a 2-night haul to 6,000 total points.
Make sure you book your stays with a credit card that earns bonus points on hotel purchases or an IHG-branded credit card. IHG has 3 cards: the IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card, IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, and IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card.

Final Thoughts
IHG’s latest promotion is exciting because it gives travelers choices in how they want to earn points through the end of the year. If you have an IHG stay coming up, you’ll definitely want to register for this new promo!
