Name a more bingeable series than “The White Lotus” if you can. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then where have you been the last few years?

“The White Lotus” first aired during the pandemic and has captivated audiences with its 3 seasons to date. We recently learned that guests of “The White Lotus” will no longer be staying in Four Seasons hotels. For the upcoming fourth season, Hotel Martinez in Cannes and Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez were chosen as White Lotus Cannes and White Lotus Saint-Tropez.

Not only is this the first time a Four Seasons hotel wasn’t chosen, but it’s the first time a Hyatt property — and a hotel you can book with points — will be featured.

As luck would have it, I was heading to the Côte d’Azur in early May for a wedding, so I managed to tack on a visit to the Hotel Martinez. Shall we take a look inside?

Inside The Hyatt Hotel That Will Feature In White Lotus Season 4

I was very curious to see what it was about the Hotel Martinez that got “The White Lotus” seal of approval.

In the previous 3 seasons, the hotels are the primary locations for the scandalous scenes in each episode, so I expected Hotel Martinez to have a wealth of aesthetically pleasing common spaces. It also wouldn’t have made the cut if it hadn’t exuded the same refined luxury we’ve come to expect from previous White Lotus hotels.

The Art Deco style and bold use of blues in the lobby made for an excellent first impression.

The same theme carries through into the restaurant and bar, Le Sud, where breakfast is served. These morning scenes are common in the White Lotus, so I’d expect Le Sud, complete with its outdoor terrace, to play an important role in season 4.

La Palme d’Or restaurant, with its views over Cannes’ famous Promenade de la Croisette, would be the perfect setting for typical White Lotus drama. Think awkward exchanges between troubled couples, a quarreling family fueled by cocktails and too much sun, or an inexperienced waiter spilling eye-wateringly expensive red wine over a guest. Will he meet an untimely fate because of this gaffe?

It wouldn’t be a season of “The White Lotus” without some kind of tragic, likely vengeful, death. Nowhere stood out to me as being a more fitting setting for such treachery than down in the exclusive 1930s-style Martinez Bar.

What could be in store for Martinez Bar?

The striking grandeur of Hotel Martinez’s poolside will provide a fitting setting for those all-important bathing suit moments that no season of “The White Lotus” lacks.

The pool is heated for all-year-round dips.

However, I expect the main venue for the show’s weird and wonderful goings-on is across the street:t La Plage beach bar and restaurant.

Of the 4 locations mentioned, only La Plage, with its seat backs decorated with the names of actors past and present, will be temporarily closed for filming.

As per the hotel’s website, La Plage and its sun deck will be off limits to guests from June 17 to 28 and from September 18 to 27,

How To Book a Slice of the Action for Yourself

Now it’s your turn to channel your inner main character energy.

Hotel Martinez is part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, making it the first White Lotus hotel bookable with points.

The cheapest nightly rates I could find for this Category 8 property were in the off-season month of November. Nightly rates start at 35,000 World of Hyatt points or $449 for an entry-level King Room.

I spent 2 wonderful nights in room 125 — a first-floor Premium Sea View room. To be honest, the neutral color palette of shades of grey and blue hues could easily be mistaken for Four Seasons decor. For the same dates in November, you’d be $716 per night.

The bed was so comfy that even with jet lag, I managed to sleep through the night.

During a tour of the hotel, I checked out an Oasis Suite Terrace, which, in terms of decor, was definitely my favorite. Nightly rates for this room start at $626.

Another option for those who really want to maximize White Lotus luxe could be a 1,180-square-foot Prestige Suite. Social media tells me that Eva Longoria is among the celebrities who’ve enjoyed the spectacular views over the Mediterranean from this room. The lowest cash rate I saw for a night in this room was $1,690.

I couldn’t find points availability for the Premium Sea View room, Oasis Suite Terrace, or Prestige Suite, but for a night in a selection of other suites the rates were between 56,000 and 70,000 points.

Final Thoughts

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure that a Hyatt Unbound Collection hotel would feel White Lotus enough. However, after a dreamy stay from start to finish, it’s evidently clear why Hotel Martinez was a match for HBO. In terms of setting, the private beach, gorgeous suites, expansive pool area, and several dining options give the producers a variety of options when curating their scenes.

While the service was also faultless, it won’t be the incredible team of Hotel Martinez staff who we’ll see waiting on season 4’s guests.
