Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. To celebrate, the Florida-based theme park is opening an all-new interactive attraction: Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. This is just one of several projects that are in the works at Walt Disney World this year and is now open to visitors.

Here’s what you can expect at this new attraction that is sure to excite park-goers of all ages.

A New Walkthrough Attraction

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is a walkthrough attraction in EPCOT at Walt Disney World where guests can interact with and learn about water and our oceans. Moana herself will be available for photos across the way at a new area of World Nature.

Guests can look forward to interactions such as making music with “rain harps” and even creating an ocean wave.

Te Fiti can be found overlooking the water path and other movie characters such as Heihei and Pua can be found carved into the attraction’s rock formations.

Disney Celebrates 100 Years

October 16, 2023, is the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company and the celebration at EPCOT is expected to last until December 31, 2023. Disney World visitors from now until the end of the year will find Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse greeting guests in the Imagination! Pavilion and 4 new Global Marketplaces will have celebratory offerings to mark the occasion.

New attractions in addition to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. A new Walt Disney statue called Walt the Dreamer will also be revealed.

The complete list of what’s on the way for Disney parks was revealed at last year’s D23 Expo 2022.
