Marriott has some big news today: The hotel giant is gearing up for the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, scheduled for October 2, 2025.

Ahead of the opening, here’s a look at Marriott’s newest luxury hotel in Tokyo, and how to book it with points.

First JW Marriott Hotel in Tokyo

The 200-room JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo will open in early October in the Takanawa Gateway City development.

While JW Marriott has an impressive presence with 100+ hotels in 40 countries, this is the brand’s first hotel in Tokyo.

The hotel was developed by the New York design firm Yabu Pushelberg, which is responsible for other ultra-luxury projects such as The Times Square EDITION; Park Hyatt, Shenzhen; and the dual Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles hotels.

Amenities include 7 dining options, including one helmed by a Michelin-starred chef, a restaurant serving traditional Japanese cuisine (with sake from every prefecture), and a southern Mediterranean restaurant.

Other amenities include the JW Mindfulness Floor, which features the famed Spa by JW, an indoor heating pool, a fitness center, and wellness programming. On this floor, there are also 9 “Wellness Rooms.”

The JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo will officially open its doors for guests on October 2. The hotel is part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, meaning you can earn and redeem points during your stay here.

We’re seeing cash rates starting at around $520 per night, with the cheapest dates throughout the first half of 2026.

If you want to save cash, we recommend booking with Marriott Bonvoy points — and the points rates are a steal, given the high-end JW Marriott brand.

You can find award nights from 81,200 points per night, though award nights typically range between 84,000 and 102,000 points per night.

If your balance is low and you need to earn Marriott Bonvoy points quickly, you have several options.

First, American Express Membership RewardsBilt Rewards, and Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio (sometimes with transfer bonus offers). You can also earn points with one of the best Marriott Bonvoy credit cards.

Hot Tip:

For stays through December 18, use promo code ES7 to receive a complimentary breakfast for 2 and a signature JW Exclusive Sake welcome amenity. Check out this link for more details.

Final Thoughts

Marriott will open a JW Marriott hotel in the heart of the world’s largest city in early October. For such a luxury brand, award nights at the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo are pretty reasonable, especially if you book in 2026.
