LATAM Peru has launched a new route from the Peruvian capital of Lima to London, England. The new flight will operate 5 times per week on a Boeing 787 and will be the only route connecting Lima (LIM) and London (LHR).

New Route

LATAM will be operating this route from Lima to London Heathrow 5 days per week.

Here is the schedule of the new flights:

Interestingly, the London to Lima flight will operate as a “reverse redeye,” though the distance and time of the flight make this more tolerable. Most flights from Europe to North America and South America operate during the day, but this one will depart in the evening, arriving the next day in time to catch connections.

The flight will feature 30 business class seats and 283 traditional economy class seats on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft and will operate a flight of about 12 to 13 hours in length depending on the direction of travel. LATAM Peru already flies to Madrid (MAD), so presumably, this flight to London is built on a base of business travelers between the 2 cities.

It’s worth noting that LATAM does not operate a ton of transatlantic services, and for that matter, the amount of routes outside of South America is quite limited, with a handful to the U.S., some to Australia, and these 2 routes to Europe. LATAM left the Oneworld alliance several years ago in favor of a partnership with Delta, so connecting traffic on either end is quite limited. Because of this, the airline needs to be even more strategic in the routes it operates.

Hot Tip:

Since Delta Air Lines and LATAM have a major partnership, you can use Delta SkyMiles to fly this new route.

Final Thoughts

LATAM Peru has launched flights from Lima to London, the second destination in Europe for the airline. The flights will operate 5 days per week and are immediately bookable.
