South American giant LATAM unveiled its latest airport lounge on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Located in Terminal 2 of Santiago, Chile’s Arturo Merino Benítez Airport (SCL), the space measures around 43,000 square feet, making it the largest airport lounge in all of South America.
As airport lounges are a crucial part of many a frequent flyer’s travel experience, the news of LATAM’s latest addition certainly caught our attention — let’s take a look at what you can expect if you happen to visit.
LATAM’s Massive New Lounge in Santiago
LATAM has leaned into sustainability for its new lounge — the space runs on 80% renewable energy, waste reduction is encouraged throughout, interactive games themed around recycling and conservation will be available, and the airline made the conscious decision to offset the lounge’s carbon footprint through ecosystem projects across South America.

These include the usual suspects like sleeping areas, family areas, showers, as well as a Latin American-themed buffet, and an open bar.
You’ll also be able to use less-common amenities such as small lockers for carry-on bags and personal items, an ironing service, and an old-school shoeshine service.
Who Can Access LATAM’s New Lounge?
Entry is restricted to passengers who are flying on international flights under the following circumstances:
- LATAM business class ticket holders
- Delta One ticket holders (thanks to Delta and LATAM’s partnership)
- Black Signature, Black, and Platinum members of LATAM Pass
Hot Tip: LATAM Pass is a useful program to know about when flying around South America. Check out our guides on earning and spending LATAM miles.
That means if you fit into one of the categories above and are traveling with LATAM to Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), or New York (JFK); or with Delta to Atlanta (ATL), you’ll get to check out the expansive new space. Unfortunately, you’re not able to pay for one-time access to this lounge.
