Germany’s flag carrier has announced a raft of new routes for summer 2024, including 3 to the U.S.

The additions include nonstop flights to Minneapolis (MSP) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU) for the first time ever from Frankfurt (FRA). In addition, the carrier will add nonstop flights between Munich (MUC) and Seattle (SEA), joining existing service from Frankfurt.

“The United States remains Lufthansa Group’s most important market outside of Europe and we could not be happier to open new gateways, offering additional travel opportunities, as well as linking your vibrant community to Europe’s leading financial and cultural centers,” said Dirk Janzen, Vice President of Sales for the Americas at Lufthansa Group Airlines.

Here are the details of Lufthansa’s new U.S.-bound routes.

Lufthansa Boosts U.S. Flying in Summer 2024

All 3 of Lufthansa’s new routes to the U.S. will begin just in time for the busy summer travel season. First, flights between Munich and Seattle will take off on May 30, 2024.

Next, Lufthansa will inaugurate its first-ever nonstop flights to Minneapolis-St. Paul on June 4, 2024, and flights to Raleigh-Durham will follow on June 6. Both of these cities will see 5 nonstop flights from Frankfurt per week.

Details of each of the services are as follows:

An added bonus for travelers based in the Twin Cities is that the flights between Frankfurt and Minneapolis will be operated by Lufthansa’s newest jet — the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. These aircraft are scheduled to debut on December 1, 2023, and will boast the most luxurious cabin fittings for the airline to-date, including the impressive Allegris first class suite.
