Excited to get some travel plans on the calendar for next summer? Lufthansa Group has you covered with 4 new routes from North America to Munich (MUC) and Zurich (ZRH).

Lufthansa has also confirmed the U.S. routes that its superjumbo Airbus A380 will operate next winter.

Let’s take a closer look at how travel between North America and Europe with Lufthansa Group airlines will look next year.

New Routes to Europe Coming Next Year

As you might already know, Lufthansa Group is the parent company of several European carriers, such as Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and SWISS, as well as subsidiary airlines like Discover Airlines and Edelweiss Air.

Based in Germany, Discover Airlines is set to launch 2 routes for the Summer 2025 travel season: Munich (MUC) to Calgary (YYC) and Orlando (MCO). Meanwhile, Zurich-based Edelweiss Air will start Zurich (ZRH) to Halifax (YHZ) and Seattle (SEA).

Here are more details of each new route:

While Discover and Edelweiss cater mainly to the leisure market in Germany and Switzerland, these routes will also provide excellent nonstop options for North Americans looking to travel conveniently to Europe.

Lufthansa’s Airbus A380 Returns to the U.S. Next Summer

More news from Germany is that Lufthansa will redeploy its behemoth Airbus A380s to the U.S. for the 2025 summer season.

Similar to summer 2024, the jet will fly from Munich to Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

For the winter season, Lufthansa will operate smaller aircraft, such as the Airbus A350, on these routes.

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see new routes coming to the U.S., albeit with lesser-known leisure carriers such as Discover and Edelweiss. And as for Lufthansa’s A380, they’re always a pleasure to watch and fly, no matter the airline.
