Much like Air France-KLM Flying Blue Promo Rewards, Lufthansa Miles & More has a regular promotion offering discounted reward redemptions for flights on Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings Discover Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, and SWISS.

Lufthansa has launched its newest Miles & More Mileage Bargains (Meilenschnäppchen) for October, and we’ll call the number of offerings “abundant” for lack of a better word.

Let’s take a look at the details!

Promotion Details

This month’s list of Miles & More Mileage Bargains comprises hundreds of deals on flights around the world. This includes an impressive 472 offers on flights from the U.S. to locations around Europe.

Discounts vary depending on your destination and fare class, and taxes can be quite high, but you’ll still find some great offers on business class redemptions. Keep in mind you must book these before November 30, 2024, and fly between February 15 and March 31, 2025.

And before we go too far, understand that these flights can’t be canceled for a refund. Your travel plans should be firm before you confirm a reservation.

Business Class Deals

This month, we’ve found 91 business-class deals available, though they’re all from Chicago (ORD) this month. Flights are on SWISS for 55,000 miles round-trip in business class. Options include:

  • Chicago (ORD) to 91 European cities flying on SWISS, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, and more

Premium Economy Deals

This month, there are 145 premium economy deals from Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), and New York (JFK) on Austrian and Lufthansa for 40,000 miles round-trip in premium economy.

Here are some standout options:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to 115 European cities flying on Lufthansa
  • Boston (BOS) to 6 European cities flying on Austrian
  • New York (JFK) to 145 European cities flying on Austrian and Lufthansa

This month, 238 economy deals are available from the U.S., with options from Atlanta (ATL), Austin (AUS), Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (ORD), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Detroit (DTW), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis (MSP), New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Raleigh (RDU), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington, D.C. (IAD). You’ll fly on Austrian, Lufthansa, or SWISS for 30,000 miles round-trip in economy.

Here are some flights that caught our eye:

  • Boston (BOS) to 139 European cities flying on Lufthansa
  • Chicago (ORD) to 97 European cities flying on Austrian and SWISS
  • Los Angeles (LAX) to 91 European cities flying on SWISS
  • New York (JFK) to 139 European cities flying on Lufthansa

Earning Lufthansa Miles

When looking purely at the mileage cost, there are some pretty incredible bargains on these flights. Unfortunately, earning Lufthansa miles can be difficult, as Miles & More doesn’t partner with any transferable point currency, and the taxes and fees can be very expensive.

However, if you’re interested in taking advantage of these monthly promotions, you may want to consider signing up for the co-branded Lufthansa credit card. Issued by Barclays, the Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard® currently features an 80,000-mile welcome bonus offer after meeting the minimum spend. That’s almost enough for a round-trip business class flight with this promotion.

Final Thoughts

There’s no doubt that Lufthansa’s monthly Mileage Bargains can represent a great deal. At 55,000 miles round-trip for a transatlantic flight in business class, you won’t find a lower rate anywhere.

However, taxes are high, and earning Lufthansa miles isn’t as simple as transferring your points. Instead, you’ll want to grab the Lufthansa Miles & More card or take advantage of other methods to help build your balance. If you’ve got the required miles and can travel during the prescribed dates, these monthly offers present great value.

The information regarding the Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard® was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
